So Excited!! Published in Scrapbooking and Beyond Magazine!

I was so excited to come back from our winter vacation in Florida to find my copy of Scrapbooking & Beyond Magazine in the mail!! I and 3 of my uber-talented friends Liz Qualman, Robbie Herring and Debbie Davidson (the whole thing co-ordinated by Liz -thanks Liz!) were asked to do a series called 'A Flourish for Every Season'. The magazine is printed quarterly and the Spring issue just came out!! For the Spring Issue we focused on using crystal flourishes on layouts.....and for the next 3 issue's we'll be focusing on a different flourish style for each season. Here is the page I made for the Spring issue......

To add interest to the crystal flourishes I handcut some blooms from some BasicGrey paper and intertwined them in the crystal flourishes using some Pop dots by Zva creative to give them some lift.....here are some close-up pic's....

I just finished my work for the Fall issue .....whew! a tight squeeze after getting back from vacation!.....thanks for having a peek!!

  2. This is the first time I've visited you blog and I wanted to let you know that your work is fantastic. Do you have an area on your blog when I could sign up to get emails each time you post? Also, do you allow scraplifting of your layouts?

  23. Congrats!!! Your work is simply amazing! I expect to see you published in more places!! I have a question for you...... HOW on earth do you get the crystal flourishes down on your paper? I go nuts with the big ones. I take them off the plastic and then I have this mess and try to get them all laid out like they are suppose to look. Is there a trick to this? I would love to know it. Keep up the beautiful work!

  28. In reply to Stacey "All moment remembered".......about using crystal flourishes......Stacey, I'm not sure which types of flourishes you've used in the past but I think the key is the brand name that you use. Zva Creative and Prima both make cystal flourishes that have a firmer backing that allow you to take the flourish off the sheet and apply it to your l/o in the same shape. Earlier on both Prima and Zva made crystal flourishes that were a little more 'fiddley' and hard to use (this might be the ones you've experianced)....but any of the newest products have a nice 'rigid' backing that make them much easier to work with. :D
