Okay my friends, you asked and I answered! After posting my Video Tutorial on making the 'Imagine' canvas design that I made for Shimmerz Paint, I got tons of emails, messages on YouTube and Facebook asking if I would create a tutorial to show how I made the Polymer clay mermaid tail that was the centerpiece for my canvas. Above is a photo of the bare clay piece that I will show you how to make. So sit back and enjoy! xo
Hope you enjoyed the video and that you are now able to create your own sea-scape design :) ....If you missed the video Tutorial on painting the mermaids tail and putting together the canvas design, you can find that Video Tutorial HERE.
Here is a photo of the finished/painted mermaids tail...
I used the gorgeous NEW Shimmerz Paints 'Inklingz' to get the two toned shimmery effect....You can find Shimmerz Paints HERE. NOTE: You can get a free/Bonus Shimmers product (a full sized bottle of Shimmerz or Dimensionz or a sample sized jar of Dazzlerz or Texturez) if you put my name "Gabrielle" in the INSTRUCTIONS TO MERCHANT part of your order :)
Have a wonderful and creative weekend! xo

ReplyDeleteyou are just such an inspiration Gabby, i could never get enough of your work, could spend all day watching your tutorials,I WISH THO, can you pleae tell me what is the different between glimmer mist and the lindys stamp gang please you use lindys a lot more also with the clay , can it be any clay or it has to be polymer as i live in australia and im still looking for polymer clay...
ReplyDeleteagain YOU ARE TRULY AMAZINGLY TALENTED
THANK YOU SO MYCH FOR WHAT YOU DO
PATTY
Thanks so much Panthea! Glimmer sprays have mica dust in them so tgey have a shimmery effect. I have mainly been using Shimmerz brand mists and paints as I am on theur design team and teach how to use these products. For example if you look at the products I used on the mermaid canvas, tgey are all Shimmerz products. Shimmerz has paints and sprays with shimmer in them, but if you are looking for color spray without shimmer in them you would want to choose from their Coloringz catagory. These have strong color without the mica in them.
DeleteAs for polymer clay, pretty much any craft shop or art supply place will have polymer clay, usually under names like Fimo or Sculpey. There are air dry clays you can use like Crayola or Martha Stewart, but they dont give as much definition to your design. Hope this helps hon! xo
Really very useable video tutorial and help my work.
