A Cheerful Card {Maja Design}

I'm having one of those weeks.  Lot's of projects to get done for my design teams, and totally short on time.  Luckily I got this card done for Maja Design yesterday, before all the craziness started today!  My husband and I are looking to get our roof re-shingled, so we've been trying to get some quotes.  This morning while I was getting my pic's done for this post, our plumbing pipes burst, the ones leading from the street to the house!.....Major water pouring in and no way to stop it!  So the basement got flooded, and now we have to do major plumbing repairs.....fixing the plumbing from the street will require, tearing up our concrete driveway and putting in all new pipes....sigh, so much for putting in a new roof before the winter.  ...Well, at least I have a happy card to share, the bloom was fun to create using little scraps of Maja Design papers, from the Coffee in the Arbour Collection.

One of my favourite sheets of paper from this collection is the 'Delicious Moments' paper with it's sweet little 'coffee' time or snack time vignettes.

I really like this paper because it offers great little pic's to use as center pieces to a cheerful card design. I used the coffee/roses and chocolate cake design for my card.

I simply cut out the coffee cup design, used an edge destressor on the edges and did a little machine stitiching around the edges of my cut papers.

I wanted to give my card a bit of a home-spun look so I created a flower design that I hope resembles a patterned quilt look.  I cut out a flower petal pattern from a bunch of the scrap papers I had from this paper collection, then moistened with water and gathered the bottom edge.

It's been a crazy week, and a busy one (two blog posts in one day!) and I have lot's more projects to share. I hope next week will prove to be a better week (not holding my breath, I have a feeling this plumbing problem is going to drag out over a week).  Maybe I should send this card to myself huh? :)

Oh Gabrielle, I'm so sorry to hear about your home troubles, were dealing with a broken garage door and a leaky roof, but it's probably nothing in comparison to a flood basement. Hopefully the damage is minimal. Good luck with everything, and love the card, it's so pretty!

Oh my, how awful for you Gabi. You must have felt so helpless whilst all that flooding was happening! Suggestion: place your beautiful card where you will see it often, and know how much we grateful recipients of your superb art-work are "Thinking of You" xx
