October Kits!! for My Creative Scrapbook are here!!

I had so much fun working with the beautiful kit's for October at My Creative Scrapbook ......The main kit is full of awesome papers form the Bo Bunny collections along with beautiful chipboard pieces, pretty rub-on's and gorgeous crystal flourishes!!! Pam asked what people want to see in the kits and she delivered!!

And talk about another awesome kit for October.....the Creative Kit just rocks!! It's a beautiful collection of BasicGrey's Ambrosia line, more gorgeous black crystal flourishes and more pretty rub-on's!! and of course plenty more fun little embellies included!

I made the page "Blessings" from the Main kit......I did a lot of paper tearing, some dry brushing with white paint, some inking on the edges and some line doodles to make this page. I used glitter glue on the butterfly chipboard and on the title chipboard, then coated it with Diamond glaze to give it a shine. (see close-up)

I used the Creative Kit to make my page "Gypsy Queen" .....I cut the little butterflies out from one of the BasicGrey papers and attached them by the body to the page.

To see more inspirational layouts using these kits come check out the Design Team gallery at My Creative Scrapbook........ a little warning though!....you won't be able to resist these awesome kits!!

I got some double use out of my Prima blooms!

With the nice weather ending faster than you can blink, I thought I'd get some nice whimsicle pic's of the girls outside. I made a flower wreath for Chloe's hair out of a bunch of Prima blooms (then used the same blooms in the layout!!) ....I used mostly BasicGrey papers for this one. For texture I did a lot of paper tearing and curling, added blooms, embossed chipboard, cut out butterflies from one of the BasicGrey patterned papers and also did a little stitching. I also used a Souffle pen in white to draw the dandelion blooms then added tiny crystals to the tips to add more glitter and texture.

Having fun with paper tearing and inking!

I had a lot of fun creating this page, .....did a little paper tearing and playing with layered embellies. I made the butterfly by taking an image of a white butterfly, adding some colour in a photo editing program and then printing it out on a piece of transparency......I then cut out the butterfly, folded the wings upward and attached the body to the page. I used Diamond glaze on the green seed beads to keep them firmly attached to the body of the butterfly.

Pink Paislee at My Creative Scrapbook!!

I've got to say this has been such a fun kit to play with......that's right!! we got Pink Paislee at My Creative Scrapbook for the September main kit and for the album kits!! I had so much fun designing with the goodies in the kit this month......they all seemed to work so well with the colours in the photo's I'd taken on our Summer vacation! I used the Maya Road swirly sheet (included in the kit) 2 ways......I used it for masking on my page 'Love Letters' and then used the same piece (it's a vinyl material so it wipes right off!) on my 'Freckles' page!
Also included in the kit was the cutest Hambly transparent overlay in a silver lace design, I used that in my 'Wild Child' l/o......it's a really nice match to the turquoise paper in the Pink Paislee Vintage Moon collection! I added a little stitching and some fun rub-ons (also in the kit!) and voila! 3 layouts done in 2 days!
And! some really cute bling in this kit too by Kaiser Craft!! I used the black bling to make my own little bling flourishes on the "love letters' page!!
If you want some great scrapping fun all tied up in one perfect kit, hop on over to My Creative Scrapbook and get your order in before they're all gone!! (and take my word for it, they are going fast!) www.mycreativescrapbook.com

Bare-foot Sandals and other cottage crafts....

We had such a nice time up at Steve's sisters cottage for the past week and a half. We had a little more rain than we would have liked but that was okay since it left us with some fun time to craft with the kids.

I brought up some metallic glitter pipe-cleaners, some glue and stick-on gems. All you need is a cardboard paper towel tube to make these cute glitter bracelets. Just slit the paper towel tube all the way down the center. then cut a 1" strip. this will make the perfect cuff/bracelet to fit around a child's wrist. Then have the little ones wrap the pipe-cleaners over the cardboard from one end to the other. Glue on the jewels and use a cloths peg to hold them in place until the glue is dry.

I have a ridiculous amount of beads, so I brought up a couple of boxes for the girls to play with. We made these really cute bare-foot sandals for the beach. All you need is some clear stretchy/elastic thread and a variety of beads. You'll need about 30-35" of elastic thread for each foot (less for a child's foot). Start by using seed beads to make the ring to go around the middle toe (I used about 36 seed beads for the toe loop) Then string the two ends through a larger bead to complete the loop. You can use any design leading up to the ankle. You can make a "Y" design like I did on mine, or you can make it a little more simple by just doing a "T" shape like Meagan did for her's. I think it would be fun to experiment with other beads like pearl or shell beads for this too! They're fun to make and the best part is I could almost trick my Mom into thinking that Meagan was actually wearing shoe's!! LOL!....that little monkey would go barefoot in winter if I let her!

Locks of Love

That's right, my little Meagan came to me a few weeks ago to tell me that she wanted to cut her long beautiful hair for Locks of Love......now this is a little girl who's had long hair since she could walk, and always refused to even consider cutting her hair....... You can't believe how surprised I was when she suddenly decided to do this. I gave her a couple of weeks to think about it, I wanted to make sure this wasn't a snap decision and that she'd be all upset after. But she was determined!! So off we went to the hair stylist yesterday, she cut off a little over 13 inches!! and still had enough left for a cute 'do'. I think she's really happy with her new 'do' and her mama couldn't be more proud!!

Love this Little Yellow Bicycle 'Vita Bella' Collection

I've had the opportunity to use some really beautiful papers by the company Little Yellow Bicycle. I was first introduced to their papers when I got some as part of a kit from My Creative Scrapbook (a design team I'm on)....the papers I worked with at that time were the 'Sharon Ann Delightful' collection, a really lovely summery collection (lot's of dotty papers, and I LOVE polka-dots!).....I recently picked up the Vita Bella collection at my LSS and just can't get enough of playing with these papers!! Gorgeous colours, and pretty foil accents on the paper and lot's of fun co-ordinates to go with the collection too. I've posted some of the work I did with them a little earlier in my blogs, but here is another I've recently finished with a bunch of the goodies from that collection! I just love the pretty metal/gem stickers that co-ordinate with the collection!
