Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine {Another Couple of Pubbed Pages!!}

Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine is a magazine that is just packed with beautiful scrapbook pages that are technique driven and full of inspiring new ideas!  As I mentioned in an earlier post, one of the things I really love about this magazine is that it's inspiring for seasoned scrapbookers and at the same time it's super helpful for novice scrapbookers as well because they share step by steps for all the page designs they featured in the magazine!  The photo I scrapped on this page above was one I took of my youngest daughter when she was about 5 years old (she's 12 now :)  ...she used to where this soft lil red hoodie, so we'd call her our little red riding hood.  Again, I scrapped with Webster's Pages new holiday collection called 'A Christmas Story'....this time using the cream/white and red colors in the collection.  I also used a Dusty Attic Designs chipboard scroll (Leafy Scroll).

For my final layout in this magazine I used last years holiday collection from Websters Pages called Royal Christmas, again, using it in a non-traditional way.  My oldest daughter took photos of these Crocus blooms in the spring.  I thought the rich royal purples in this collection would do well to accent this floral photo Chloe took.  The paper collection has some really fun exotic accents like peacocks in it....so I went with it and embellished with chipboard peacock feathers from Dusty Attic Designs.  A small step by step is shown in the magazine on how to paint/decorate the chipboard feathers to recreate the look of a peacock feather.  ....Again, here is the cover of this amazing magazine....

If you haven't had a chance to check out a copy of this magazine you can find information on it HERE.  I just enjoyed a weekend of inspiration paging through my copy, hope you get a chance to enjoy it too! xo xo

Got Some Layouts Pubbed in Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine!

I just got my copy of the lastest issue of Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine (Holiday Issue) in the Mail today!!  I'm excited to share that I had 4 scrapbook pages published in this issue!   I was asked to create 4 layouts using holiday themed papers from Websters Pages (A Christmas Story collection) in non-traditional way.  The idea is to show the versatility of the collections.   This wasn't a challenge for me because as I've mentioned before, I think of myself as 'the back-side scrapper'! :)    I tend to start with the backsides of patterned papers and then use some of the patterned designs on the main side and fussy cut them to embellish.  The photo taken on a school trip of Chloe and one of her friends.  I love that Brandin (Websters Pages brand designer) didn't just go with the traditional holiday colors for this collection, she added in pinks, golds and soft blue's, this allows you to stray to other scrapping themes.  I added some Dusty Attic Chipboard (Skeleton Clock Frames, Swirly Vines #3, Small Scroll #6) and a Websters Pages Cameo (Perfect Accents).

Here is another page I made from the same collection using the golds and soft turquoise blues.  I wanted to go for more of a romantic look for this page as it's some more engagement photos I had to scrap for my nephew and his bride.  The chipboard again is from Dusty Attic (Baroque Frames
- Square).  Here is the cover of the magazine....

This magazine never disappoints if you are into layouts that are just filled with technique!  And the beauty of it is that they make it easy for their readers to recreate similar designs.  Each of the layouts are broken down into step by steps by each of the page designers so that you can easily follow how to make the page designs.  You can subscribe to this wonderful magazine HERE.

I'll be back on Wednesday to share another couple of layouts I had pubbed in this gorgeous magazine!  Thanks so much for stopping by today! xo xo

Another Layout in Australian Scrapbook Idea's Magazine!

I have one more layout of mine to share with you all that was published in the January Issue of the Australian Scrapbook Idea's Magazine.  I got my issue last week and I'd be remiss in failing to say how beautiful all the layouts are in this issue.  I really enjoyed reading this issue cover to cover, so many beautiful ideas and techniques.  For my layout above of my oldest daughter Chloe, I used one of my favourite Bo Bunny collections called Et Cetera combined with their new blooms and trinkets.  Here are some close-up pic's of the page.....
I also used a whole bunch of Dusty Attic Chipboard pieces for this page since it is an Aussie magazine and Dusty Attic is based in Australia.  I used the Dusty Attic Baroque Frames (square), the Chicken Wire Panel, Fancy Letter Box #2 (below), Mini Scrolls and the Mini Clock Faces.  I shared the techniques/finishes on the chipboard in the magazine.

You can find Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine HERE.  As I mentioned in my other posts, it's so cool the way they show the step by steps for the layouts they feature in this magazine, love that!

Hope everyone has an awesome and creative weekend!  Thanks for stopping by! xo

Another Layout in Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine!!

First off I want to say a big thank you for all the wonderful comments I get here on my blog.  I mentioned on a previous post that I had lost photos that I accidently deleted from my camera!  I had no idea these could be recovered so I really appreciate the helpful tips from you kind ladies!! xo

I mentioned about a week ago that one of my layouts made the cover of Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine and that I also had a couple more layouts pubbed in the magazine as well. I'm here today to share another page that you'll find in the magazine! I used some of my favourite Websters Pages paper collections (Park Drive) and embellishments for this page as well as a whole bunch of my favourite Dusty Attic chipboard pieces (Peacock Feather, Scroll #1) as well!  The page was about a pair of shoe's I bought a little while back and thought they were just the cutest things ever!!  Until I actually tried to really walk in them (I mean more than the usual few steps in the store)....oh, my word!!!  I can walk in high heals no problem but these take the cake!  Hardest shoes to walk in ever!! LOL!  What Was I Thinking!??  Here are a few close ups of the page....

As I mentioned before, this is such a wonderful magazine! It literally gives you every little step in creating the pages it shows in the magazine. They also will give you step by step techniques for special effects on a page. You can find the full step by step for this page in their magazine. For more info on this magazine/subscriptions you can check out this link Australian Scrapbook Idea's Magazine.  The January Issue is on the stands right now! :)  Thanks so much for stopping by today!! xo

I'm a Cover Girl on Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine!!

A few months back Sue Smyth, one of the lovely editors over at Australian Scrapbook Idea's Magazine asked me if I would do a series of layouts for a feature article they have in their magazine called 'Master Class'.  If you are not familiar with this magazine you've got to check it out!! What I really love about it is that they not only show some really beautiful work in their magazine, they do clear step by steps for each and every page they show in the magazine!  Along with a very detailed list on every item on the page, they have the people that contribute to the magazine give a concise step by step on each page!  So if you are a beginner or a seasoned scrapper you will find the magazine packed with inspiration and helpful tips!

Above is one of the pages I had sent in for this article.  I used some of my favorite Websters Pages papers from the 'In Love' collection as well as their stamps, blooms (Princess Petals), Alphabet stickers and Gem strips.  And of course, given that it's an Aussie Magazine, I had to liberally use my Dusty Attic chippies as well! (Skelleton Clock Frames, flourish).  Just a quick note:  I get many questions on where to find Dusty Attic products.  You can find a list of retailers that sell Dusty Attic online at the right column of my blog, and you can also find more retailers at the Dusty Attic Ning site.  Here are a few close-up pic's of the page....

A little over a week ago I got another big surprise from them!  I was told that I got the cover of the magazine with this layout!  While I admit I have been pubbed a number of times it isn't that often that I get the cover!  The photo I scrapped is of my sweet nephew and his new bride (a beautiful photo taken by a good family friend and excellent professional photographer Gord Wenzel, Impressions Photographic Studio).  Here is a picture of the January issue...

The issue hits the news stands on Friday January 11th! If you would like to subscribe you can find the information here at this link Practical Publishing And for any of you fortunate girls that will be attending CHA this coming weekend in Anahiem, California, Australian Scrapbook Ideas will be there with their own booth and will be giving out copies of this issue to the attendies!  They will also be showing many of the layouts shown in their magazine in their booth including 3 of the layouts I sent them!  I Sooooo wish I was going!  Be sure to pop in to see them and send my love to them if you do! :)

I apologize in advance that I've had to put on my word verification for the comments on this blog, I've had a huge amount of spam comments on my blog lately and so, as much as I hate to put you all through the comment verification process I feel I need to do this for a time until the spammers disappear.  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking the time to leave your kind comments!  They mean a lot to me! xo
