Mixing and Matching Collections!

On one hand it's easy to just grab a single collection pack and start scrapping, I also think it is fun to mixed it up sometimes!   For my page today I used some of the scraps I had from working with the NEW Best Friends collection and mixed it up with a bunch of papers from other Websters collections like Park Drive
One of my favourite papers in the Park Drive collection is the one that has the floral elements with the white script design over top.  I just cut out a bunch of the floral elements and used them as my page decorations.  I like to mix paper fussy cut flowers with textural 'real' florals when adding a cluster of embellishments to my page.
Here's a close up of the bloom cluster (sometimes the flowers cast shadows when I take my full photo of the page so it's hard to see the detailing.  The butterfly is part of a cute charm packette from Webster's Pages.  The white thready looking stuff is from a roll of knitting yarn I bought from Michaels craft shop, I bought a huge roll of it for a few dollars...it goes a long way for layouts!
The pink Bloomers trim strip from Websters pages is one of my favourite colors from the WP bloomers, I love the soft pretty color and the tattered edge on the bloom strip.  Here's a list of the products I used to make this page :)
Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Best Friends, Park Drive, Royal Christmas,
Perfect Accents: Girl Land
Phrase Stickers : Best Friends

Princess Petals: Best Friends, Girl Land
Cameo Stick Pins

I hope everyone has a wonderful and creative weekend! xo

Song Lyric's in Scrap Pages!!

I just love doing scrap pages using song lyric's as a base for them!  I really don't know why I don't do it more often!  You kind of have the song playing in your head as you're scrapping and it makes it all the more fun to create! ....I took this photo of Chloe, my 14 year old daughter with a few of her good friends.  I love how much fun they have together, it doesn't matter where they are or what the weather is like, they always have a good time together (yep, that's mud on Chloe's knee's from rough-housing with the boys! lol!)  When I look at this photo it makes me think of the song lyrics from the song 'Good Time' by Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen ....
"We don't even have to try...
It's always a good time"
Here's a link to the song on Youtube if you're not familiar with it.... "GOOD TIME"
Of course I just had to use the NEW Best Friends collection from Websters Pages to make up this page!  This time I went with the blue's and turquoise colours in the collection since I was scrapping boys in the photo as well.....but, heehee, it didn't stop me from adding blooms to the page :)
For this corner design I combined the lovely scroll chipboard from Dusty Attic with a cameo (Perfect Accents) piece from Websters Pages Best Friend collection. (the corner stamp is an older stamp from Websters Pages & Unity Stamps.
This is something that I've used before on my pages, is a zipper that I cut out from an old pair of jeans (after going through two girls, the jeans were pretty much done anyway:)  ....I used some of the beautiful lace trims that coordinate with the Best Friends collection around the zipper design.
I made the blooms decorating this corner from the patterned paper from this collection using the Spellbinders 'Rose Creations' die cuts and some flower stamens that I found at my local fabric store.
Here's a close-up look at the pretty new blooms from Websters Pages called Princess Petals....I'm loving that wide turquoise lace trim that goes with the BF collection as well!

I though I would use up some of the left over scraps from the last two pages I made with the Best Friends Collection so I made up this tag...
I did a little inking and stamping to make up this page....yep, I can't get enough of stamping lately! :)
.....so tell me.....what song do you want to scrap in the near future?  I love to hear what songs move and inspire people!

NEW! Webster's Pages 'Best Friends' Collection is here!!

Webster's Pages just released their cute new mid-season release called Best Friends and I got my design team package last week and have my first layout done using the papers, trims, transparencies and their adorable new Storymarkers (below).  I scrapped a photo I took of Meagan, Chloe and her best friend Peyton, when we were at Wonderland (a Canadian theme park) a few weeks ago. Chloe and Peyton have been friends since they were about 3 years old, and even though they are in different high schools now they still have remained best friends.
I thought I would try using these cute book markers in a different way.  I saw a fun tutorial for cards on Youtube to create a 'waterfall' effect.  They used paper for the design but I thought I would try combining paper and the ribbon pull to create an interactive design on my page.  Here is a link to the tutorial I watched 'Waterfall Card Tutorial'.  I simply added my velvet strip to the design as the pull cutting it in half, and used the extra bit from the top as a pleated design above the waterfall pull.  When you pull on the charm each of the sections flip up to reveal the names of the girls in the photo.
This photo above shows a side view of how the top piece flips up to reveal the next piece underneath as you pull the ribbon.
This photo shows each section as you pull, the top piece flips up and reveals the tab underneath.  I did a little stamping and heat embossing on the paper tabs and then simply wrote their names on them.
The floral embellishments I added where made from the 2 smallest petal designs from the Spellbinders Rose Creations die cuts.  I cut them from white cardstock and lightly tinted the centers with some pink ink (Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet)...the centers are punched from pink cardstock using the smallest retro flower punch from Paper Shapers (EK Success).
The Best Friends collection started shipping last week, so check your local scrap store to see if they've ordered them in, ...or an online option is that you can order this cute collection directly from the Webster's Pages Website!  Stay tuned, I've got another fun layout made with this gorgeous collection for you on the 29th, hope you'll have time to pop in again!   Thanks for stopping in today and for the kind comments!! xo
