Mixing and Matching Collections!

On one hand it's easy to just grab a single collection pack and start scrapping, I also think it is fun to mixed it up sometimes!   For my page today I used some of the scraps I had from working with the NEW Best Friends collection and mixed it up with a bunch of papers from other Websters collections like Park Drive
One of my favourite papers in the Park Drive collection is the one that has the floral elements with the white script design over top.  I just cut out a bunch of the floral elements and used them as my page decorations.  I like to mix paper fussy cut flowers with textural 'real' florals when adding a cluster of embellishments to my page.
Here's a close up of the bloom cluster (sometimes the flowers cast shadows when I take my full photo of the page so it's hard to see the detailing.  The butterfly is part of a cute charm packette from Webster's Pages.  The white thready looking stuff is from a roll of knitting yarn I bought from Michaels craft shop, I bought a huge roll of it for a few dollars...it goes a long way for layouts!
The pink Bloomers trim strip from Websters pages is one of my favourite colors from the WP bloomers, I love the soft pretty color and the tattered edge on the bloom strip.  Here's a list of the products I used to make this page :)
Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Best Friends, Park Drive, Royal Christmas,
Perfect Accents: Girl Land
Phrase Stickers : Best Friends

Princess Petals: Best Friends, Girl Land
Cameo Stick Pins

I hope everyone has a wonderful and creative weekend! xo

Mixing Webster's Pages Collections

I love changing up the look of a collection by mixing in another collection.  I got this sweet photo of my great niece from my nephew a couple of weeks ago and knew right away that the pretty pinks in the Parkdrive collection would work perfectly for the photo....but then I had this framed paper in my stash from the 'Ladies & Gents' collection and I really liked how it paired up with the Parkdrive papers and floral elements.  Here are some close-up shots of the embellishments for this page....
I made the pink roses on this page using the FLOWER TUTORIAL I shared with you all a little while back (just click on the word 'flower tutorial' to take you to it).  The nest/eggs are from Recollections from Michaels.  The fabric bloom is the new Princess Petals from Websters Pages.  The shaggy looking trim is some stuff I bought a roll of at Michaels (in the knitting area).
I fussy cut a lot of the blooms brom one of the Parkdrive collection papers but before I attached them with pop-dots, I did a little bit of stamping on the paper behind them with the Webster's Pages/Unity Stamp Diamond Tag stamp (I use that one a lot!)
(You can find this stamp at the Websters Pages website www.websterspages.com
And here is one more close up of some of the fussy cut blooms from the Parkdrive collection that I attached inside the frame from Ladies & Gents.

So, tell me, do you like to mix & match?  Or do you like to stick to just one collection?

Websters Pages Shipping Week Blog Hop {and GIVEAWAYS!!!}

That's right!  The new Webster's Pages collections from the Summer CHA start shipping today!!  And to celebrate, Websters Pages and the design team are having a fun little blog hop to share projects made with the gorgeous new collections and to share some amazing give-aways as well!!

The hop begins at the Websters Pages Blog, where you will find a beautiful, heartwarming story and the list for the hop.  You should have come to me from Kay Roger's beautiful blog, if not then hop over to the Websters Pages blog and begin from there.

I'll begin by sharing 2 projects I made with two of the newest collections.  I made cards up as my projects for the hop because I wanted to step out of my everyday element (I LOVE doing 12x12 layouts).  I find myself always in need of cards and what nicer way to show people you care than to give a handmade card?  For me scrapping is not just a hobby that allows me to play with pretty papers.  It's about sharing my stories and photos and showing those around you that you love them.  What nicer way to do this than to send a hand crafted card right?  This first card is one I made with the gorgeous New Parkdrive Collection.....
I wanted to make an interactive card with a unique design for a party invitation.  So I used a scallop edge die cut paper from Websters Pages (the Sunday Picnic Die Cut, the Game On die cut has the same shape as well) as a template, cut it in half, traced it onto some Parkdrive paper and folded in at the two sides to create the pocket/corset design...
I then made a little insert card for the information for the invite, (who, when, where) that can be pulled out and slipped back in.   I just LOVE the new Designer Trim cards that coordinate with this collection as well as the stunning NEW CHARMS that also coordinate with this collection.  There is an extra waide lace trim in this collection of trims that worked perfectly for the fabric overlay look I wanted to give my corset design, and the sweet Cream Floral Charm with the soft purple/pink tear drop gem added just the finishing touch I was looking for.   Here are some close-up pic's...
The floral design is from the Websters Pages Park Drive Digital Motifs.  I printed off the floral element and cut it out as an accent for the insert card (so I guess you can call this a hybrid card).

For my second card I used the Once Upon a Halloween Collection.  I just love the scripted paper on one of the patterned papers....and again, I LOVE the Designer Trims that go with this collection....the large lace/circle design trim is one of my favourites on the trim card!
For my card title I stamped on one of the patterened papers and finished the edges with a little machine stitching.
The flower was made from another one of the fringe trims (Tutu Blue Trim) from the Mesh Trim Card.  I made it by simply running a bead of glue around the edges of a small punched circle from patterned paper...I ran the trim around twice for a full effect.
Here are some of the New products I used to create my two projects....you can find them all at the Webters Pages Website and Yep! you can go ahead and start ordering today!!

So.....how do you play along in the blog hop?  Just follow one blog to the next, enjoy the projects shown and be sure to leave a comment!  There will be 7 fabulous prizes up for grabs!  You won't know which of the blogs the prizes will be chosen from (even us DT gals don't know!) ...so be sure to comment on each of them to ensure a chance at one of the prizes!  The Winners will be announced at the Websters Pages Blog on Friday August 17th!

Hope you like what you saw here and that you've found some inspiration!  Ready for some more?? Well hop on over to the amazingly talented Jamie Harder's Blog, she is sure to WOW you with her project!

Happy Hopping!! xo

Working with my NEW Webster's Pages 'Park Drive' Collection

Hi everyone!  I know, it's been quiet here at my blog for the last week!  We just took ourselves a little summer vacation up at my dear brother's cottage and had ourselves some nice relax time with the family.  But just before we went away I got some happy mail, some of the newest Webster's Pages collections!  Here I used the NEW 'Parkdrive' collection to make up these two layouts.  I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this paper collection!  It has all the beautiful botanical designs I've come to love about Websters Pages designs, and the color combinations in this collection just lift me up!
I received a bunch of the new Fabric Trims as well as the new Perfect Accents (Cameo's) as well....I'm always excited to see what cameo's have come out to match the new collections.  The camoe's for this collection are adorable!
I added a bit of painted and stamped design to this page using some water and mica powder (Perfect Pearls).  I just took a pain brush dipped it in some water, then the mica powders and brushed them onto the page.  I then stamped with the Diamond Tag stamp from Websters just around the edges of where I was placeing the photo.  I also used a white-out pen to add some dots in the darker area's of the design to give the page some whimsy.

There are also some fun new Transparency sheets for the new collections.  There is a really cute transparency ticket sheet with little accent words.  I used one of them combined with the alpha stickers to create my title.
The beauty of the Parkdrive collection is that you can go for a variety of looks to your layouts.  For the top layout I went with a bit more of an 'artsy' look using paper distressors and painted finishes.  But if clean fresh colors and designs are more your style, there are papers in this collection that work beautifully for that style.  In the above layout I scrapped some pic's of my youngest daughter playing crockette up at my parents place.  I was drawn to the apple greens and the gingham design.  I combined it with the soft preety pinks and added some of my favourite Websters Bloomers in the pink shade to embellish the page.
Along with using some more of the sweet new WP Cameo's (BTW, they are mounted on those amazing Dusty Attic Cameo Sliders chipboard pieces)....I used some of the adorable new Charm Accents from Websters Pages.  Above is a close-up of the green rhinestone & butterfly charm.
So where can you get all these new goodies?  Well if your local store didn't order them in (they are shipping out soon to the retailers)....you can order directly from the Websters Pages Website!  Just for your convenience I've linked many of the new products I've mentioned here to the Websters Pages site, just click on the pink hi-lighted words for a quick connect.
Well, the summer break is already half done, and I've got so much more I want to do with the kids!  It all goes too fast doesn't it!  But for now, I'm pulling my camera card to get some of those cottage pic's developed so I can get scrapping again!  Thanks for stopping by today! :)
