NEW Page Kit & Video Tutorial {The Scrapbook Diaries}

Hello friends! I have a new page kit to share with you that is filled with lotsa fun chipboard and some unique and beautiful embellishments.  And as always you get a unlimited access to a private video tutorial on how to make this page when you order from The Scrapbook Diaries!

There is an amazing set of chipboard designs included in this kit, I think all these circles and cogs allow for a variety of designs, here I used it like a spray across the page....I love these combo packs because they allow for a maximum variety of chipboard designs for a minimum price!  Also included are those lovely title chippies, I really love the font used on these.

I began the design by relaxing and (watching TV) while cutting out a bunch of these cute little butterflies from a lovely contact sheet by LemonCraft.

And I combined the butterflies with these cute adhesive buttons by LemonCraft.  The chickenwire is this cool set of stickers by 7 Gypsies.  I just randomly cut the sticker to suit my design.

I had been saving this stunning packet of verdigris metal leaves by Prima for just the right kit and here I finally found it!  Aren't these embellishments beautiful?  ...of course Janene had stock-piled enough of them so that I could create a kit with them.

And as always I love to add in some cool mixed media products, here I used a Tim Holtz paint called Sea Glass and some of my favorite Prills pebbles as well....all of course are included in the kit.

The beauty of this kit is it works equally well for a girlish page or a masculine page....and the title allows for so many photos.  Janene includes enough product to make bonus pages and you can see a sample she made at The Scrapbook Diaries website.

Some of these kits are limited because of some of the unique products I use on the page such as the metal verdigris leaves, so if this one appeals to you, head on over to the Scrapbook Diaries before she runs out!  You can order you kit HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I always appreciate your kind words and feedback! xo

I'm Back! With a NEW Kit Page!! {The Scrapbook Diaries}

Hi Everyone!  I know it's been ages since I last posted!  My dear friend Janene at The Scrapbook Diaries has been gently reminding me there are many out there that are wanting some fun new kit pages....so here I am with a kit page using some amazing products from great companies like 49 & Market, LemonCraft and Prima.  I've been busy making up a photobook from all the beautiful photo's we got from my daughter Chloe's wedding.  This is one of my favorite photo's taken by a dear friend of ours (Gord Wenzel, an amazing photographer) ....he captured this sweet unposed photo of her that I think expresses her beautiful soul.

I really love the papers I was able to use for this kit....so feminine and beautiful....I used this for a wedding photo but it can be used equally well for friendship pages or any other themed page you're looking to make up.  I always love to add in those little extra's like Prills (the small colorful pearls) that add a lovely texture to the page.

And the flowers and chipboard accents!  Beautiful shimmery goodness by 49 and Market.  Janene Meyerowitz cleverly designed these groupings of chipboard that allow you to have a nice variety of chipboard for your page without breaking the bank!

As always the kit comes with a free unlimited access to a private Video Tutorial, which will show you step by step how to make this page as well as all the materials and mixed media products to create this page and bonus pages.

If you want in on this one, and I know you will!...hop on over to The Scrapbook Diaries and order yours today! (as always the kits are limited in number so grab your's while the gettin's good!)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today....I know it's been a long time, it feels good to be back! xo

NEW! Kit & Video Tutorial for The Scrapbook Diaries!

Hello dear friends, I know it has been quite some time since I last posted on my blog. As most of you know I've had a lot going on with my daughters wedding....but it is done now (it was a beautiful wedding) and now I have time to get back to my creative work!  My first order of business was to get a new Page Kit done for The Scrapbook Diaries!  It's summer and it's such a fun time to do those beach/seaside photo's.  I used the gorgeous papers and embellishments from the new 49 & Market collection (designed by Janene Meyerowitz) called Sand & Sea!  I am so in love with these papers and especially the layered sticker sheet that goes with it!!

These beautiful layered stickers (sea horses, shells, starfish, bubbles, coral, sea grass and jellyfish) are so pretty and add a lovely 3D effect....and best of all, no fussy cutting!  In an instant you have the look of a page that took a lot of time and detailing but without all the work!  Included in this kit is a full 12x12 layered translucent sticker sheet with glitter accents....I'm actually hoarding some for a canvas I want to do....but there are a LOT of embellishments to choose from in this package....and lets just say the quantity is limited on these so you may want to jump in on this one asap!

For this kit page I used a cool distress crayon by Tim Holtz along with some gorgeous Blue Patina mica powder by Ranger Perfect Pearls for my mixed media products (included in the kit of course). And to give the page some lovely texture I used a 6x6 stencil that I designed for The Crafter's Workshop called Tile Mania (TCW662).....all included in the kit.

As always the kit includes a full private video tutorial to which you will have unlimited access to with the purchase of the kit.  This will show you in step by step detail how to create this page.  You can imitate it exactly as is or tweak it to match your own taste.  Janene also created a bonus page that can be made with this kit and let me tell you it's a stunner, it utilizes some more of my favorite papers from the gorgeous Sand & Sea collection!

I have to admit that beach/summer pages are my favorite to create and this one was seriously fun to play with, I think you will really enjoy this one.  You can get your kit while quantities last at The Scrapbook Diaries HERE.

I hope you enjoyed this post today and perhaps want to give this gorgeous kit a go! I appreciate all your kind comments and feedback and read and reply to them all! Thanks so much!  Have a lovely creative weekend my friends!

NEW! Kit & Video for The Scrapbook Diaries!!

I know! It's been a couple of months since I did a Kit Page for The Scrapbook Diaries....part of the reason is these two awesomes in the photo! We've got a wedding coming up soon on us so my time has been occupied with wedding showers, invites, dress shopping, ....all the fun stuff that comes with a family wedding. (Well, that and doing some designing for stamps and stencils....more to come!)

There are so many fun page elements in this kit, I really had a lot of fun working with these! Loads of gorgeous blooms from 49 and Market (these are so shimmery and lovely, the photo doesn't do them justice!)....and really beautiful chipboard accents).

As always, the kit includes everything in it so that you can recreate the page I made here (including unlimited access to a full private video tutorial on how to make the page)....a lovely shade of Tim Holtz Distress Ink, one of my new stamp designs (Faded Damask), lots of chipboard and beautiful shabby chic Prima accents.

People often say to me, 'you get to work with such beautiful products!'.....well, you can too! Everything you need is put together in this kit along with full instructions and plenty to make a bonus page and more!  I just love the colors in this kit, I find them soothing and appealing to the eye.  You can order this kit (while they last) at The Scrapbook Diaries HERE

As for me?  Back to the fun of wedding planning for my sweet daughter and her fiancee ......I'm a bit OCD so I take on a lot of things myself....is it crazy that I want to do the wedding cake, the flowers, the sweet table, the decorating?  Hey, at least I'm leaving the catering for the dinner to someone else, LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, hope you enjoy this lovely kit! I always take the time to read your comments and kind feedback no matter how busy I get! xo

Love Always VIDEO TUTORIAL! {TCW Stencils}

Hi All! So I'm back with another video tutorial....and I went wayyy out of my comfort zone with this one.  I always try to get in and read all the feedback on my tutorials and one of the things I've been asked a few times is if I'd consider narrating on my tutorials.  Well, I'm one of those people who can't stand the sound of their own voice.  When I get nervous my voice is low, my throat gets dry...well, you get the idea.  But never-the-less I went and tried it out anyways.  So this is a layout I gave you all a peek at a little while back on which I used a NEW stencil I designed for TCW (The Crafter's Workshop), it's called 'Tile Mania'.  For this one I used the 12" x 12" stencil (but it also comes in the 6"x6" size. TCW662.  So without any further ado, hear is my tutorial!....

The photo is of my oldest daughter and her fiancee, they are getting married in May and this photo was one of my many favorites from their engagement photo shoot.

Most of the products I used on this page can be found in one place....The Scrapbook Diaries!  I didn't do this one as a kit as this was a sample page I made for the TCW trade show booth.  But the most of the products I used were from The Scrapbook Diaries.  You can find the papers, the stamps (Gabi's Patterned Textures and Gabi's Postcards From Paris), the stencil, the flowers, burlap, twine, texture paste, Gesso and even some of the chipboard and embellishments at The Scrapbook Diaries, I believe she even has Perfect Pearls there too? (at least I got them from her in the first place, LOL)

The gems where from my local dollar store. In Canada we have Dollarama, I often find odds and ends there that I can add to my pages..  Here you can see how I added the gems to the cross sections of my stencil design. You can also see some of the script stamping I did with my Postcards from Paris stamp set (also at The Scrapbook Diaries)

Another little closeup of the accent area on my layout....I like to throw a little accent area in to balance the page design.  The little blue buds were part of a kit I made up for The Scrapbook Diaries a little while back.  If Janene doesn't have these in her store, I know that many craft stores carry these or something similar in a variety of colors.

I hope you guys enjoyed watching this video tutorial and weren't too put off by my voice! lol......now I've got to get back to wedding plans, like a true mom I've decided to take on a lot of the work myself....wedding cake, flower arranging, decorating....yipes!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and thanks for the kind comments you all are always leaving me, I really appreciate it!

Mosaic Video Tutorial! {TCW & Shimmerz Paints}

So guess what?! The stencils are finally hitting the stores!  Just got word from Janene over at The Scrapbook Diaries that the NEW stencils I designed for TCW (The Crafter's Workshop) are finally in the house!  (I was a little premature showing my last tutorial for the Bride book....got a lot of emails asking where to get,...and they weren't in yet! lol!)  This time I have somewhere to send you! :)

For this project I used the stencil I designed for The Crafters Workshop called 'Stained Glass Daisies' TCW657.  The photo you see above is an extra canvas I made using acrylic paints.  But in the following video tutorial I used a variety of Shimmerz Paints Products to create my Mosaic canvas.  Time to grab yourself a cup of coffee (or tea), kick back, relax and enjoy!

Hope you enjoyed my little tutorial....and easy, right?  Almost like painting in a coloring book!  And you get a mosaic effect without having to cut and match pieces, it's all done for you, just a few swipes with some texture paste and your can get your creative on with coloring!

This is a still shot of the stencil I created in the video tutorial using the Shimmerz paints, here I used a wash in the 'grout' lines, giving more of a vintage look.  For the canvas at the top of this blog I simply used TCW's Black Gesso for the background and TCW's Ultra Thick Molding Paste for the stencil and then painted with some favorite acrylic paint colors.

But Getting back to the canvas in the video....I used a variety of Shimmerz Paints products for this one and finished the design by adding some Dusty Attic Grasses at the bottom of the canvas.

Shimmerz Paint Products used in this Tutorial:

Creameez: Get Glowing, Peachie Keen, Sage It Isn't So, Boogie Boardin' Blue, Purple Rain, Black Cherry Cola, Strawberry Fields
Inklingz: Greener Pastures
Coloringz: Chocolate Brownie

You can pick up your Shimmerz Paints HERE.  NOTE: Be sure to mention my name 'Gabrielle' in your next order to receive a FREE/Bonus Shimmerz Paints product in the color of your choice!

Just imagine all the places you can use this mosaic stencil design....on the cover of an art journal, ...on a tissue box cover,...on a keepsake box....I can't wait to see what you all come up with using this fun new stencil!  Be sure to tag me in if you post something using the stencil, I just love to see what you all create using them!  As I mentioned you can now find them at The Scrapbook Diaries (USA & Canada, she also ships International)....I also heard that The Mad Scrapper in the UK has them in as well!  (Just click on the links to take you there).  If you don't like to shop online you can always check your local scrap store or art shop (many now carry TCW products!)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  I always appreciate and read all the lovely comments and feedback! They make my day! xo

NEW Kit & Video Tutorial {The Scrapbook Diaries}

When Janene sent me these adorable wood chippies I knew I had to make a fun kit out of it using some of my favorite Prills embellishments for The Scrapbook Diaries.  I used a cute photo of a bike for my page but the title and the pretty embellishments can work beautifully on a photo of a special person in your life as well.

Isn't that little wheel-barrow adorable! And it was so quick and easy to make!  In minutes you can make your own unique embellishment with items found in this kit.

I just love the scripty title chippie that comes with this kit too....it adds a pretty touch without taking over the page. The kit also includes the 'Postcards from Paris' stamp set I recently designed for The Scrapbook Diaries.  I thought the scripty writing, the postcards and Cone flowers added a pretty background design for this page, especially when used with the brown chalk ink (also included in the kit).

I have been itching to use this beautiful set of lilac/white blooms from 49 & Market and was happy to get to use them with the fun lavender chippies in this kit.  I added a little double hemp bow to make the corner accent on this page.

....And this adorable lavender wreath!  You're going to have so much fun making this page accent!  As always, I created  a full video tutorial with the kit to which you have unlimited access to, to help you create your own special keepsake.  You can may your page exactly as shown or tweak the page to suite your own style.

You can order your kit today HERE at The Scrapbook Diaries!  As always it includes enough product to make extra bonus pages as well.  The kits are limited in number so be sure to get your's while they are still available.

I know you haven't seen a lot from me lately....but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!  I've got 8 new stencil's I've designed for The Crafter's Workshop that will be coming out in the winter shows....I'll have lots of tutorials for fun projects to make with them, so stay tuned! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I always appreciate all the lovely comments and feedback! xo

NEW Kit & Video, Time to Scrap Summer Photos! {The Scrapbook Diaries}

Hi my friends!  I know I've been pretty quiet around here the last little while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy being crafty! Shhhh! but I've been designing some more stencils for TCW (The Crafters Workshop)....I think you're going to love them! But for now you have to wait while they go into production.  In the meantime I have this lovely new Kit Page and Video tutorial to share with you that I designed for The Scrapbook Diaries (the video comes with the kit).  We had a super busy summer and took lots of pics, so now it's time to get scrapping them (I hate for them to just sit in a computer file right?)

This kit it packed with beautiful chipboard elements....and don't get me started on the papers!  They were some of my all time favorite papers to work with by Blue Fern!  (I loved them so much, when I finished my page, I contacted Janene and asked if she minded if I made an extra page for this kit because I'm on a roll!)

I did a little fussy cutting on this one, but not too much for those of you who are not into that....just enough to add a nice artistic touch.  I just used a little pair of nail clipper scissors to do this.

Now let's talk embellishments!  So many wonderful things to embellish with in this kit!  Some gorgeous Prima metal accents and beautiful blooms from 49 & Market!  I also used a very cool stencil by Andy Skinner that ended up looking like mermaid scales to me!

....And the paints!!  I'm soooo in love with the paints I used in this kit!  Luminarte H20's in Ancient Coin and Beachouse blue.  They give such a pretty aged patina to the page design. It's hard to see the shimmery effect they give on this flat page but you'll see in the video how beautifully they combine!

And of course I had to add some of my favorite new texture elements to this page....Prills!  I thought the colors I picked would add a nice sandy/beachy element to this page.

As I said earlier, I loved the kit elements so much that I just wanted to keep going so I made an extra page for this kit!  This one came together so quick and easy!  Don't you love it when that happens?

We went camping this summer (something I haven't done for many many years) and we went to a place called The Pinery near Grand Bend Ontario.  So beautiful! I enjoyed scrapping this pic of the beach, brought back so many happy memories as I was working on it! But then that's the point behind all this scrapping right?

Here's another close-up of the embellishments included in this kit....the metal accents make me so happy...

And aren't these wood chippies adorable? I thought they gave a nice 'sea grass' look to the page design (also included in kit)...the little shells, star fish and sea horses are from Dusty Attic (also included in kit).

You can see a bit of the shimmer the paints give on the corrugated cardboard area here.  Here I just randomly painted on the two colors in the kit, letting them overlap here and there....I thought this gave the embellishment a nice sort of aged/rusted look.

Seaside Memories Bonus Page MMK182

And usually I don't overload you guys with all the bonus options of the kits here on my blog but I just had to show you the BONUS pages that Janene Meyerowitz designed to be added to the kit! I absolutely love the two bonus pages she created for this one! (above)

Bonus Page MMK182

This is the second bonus page that Janene Meyerowitz designed for this kit!  I love that she adds bonus pages that allow for more photos as well!

So there you have it! One BIG beautiful kit to scrap those summer photos (or your vacay photos) which also includes unlimited access to a private video tutorial on how to make the top page.  Get yours while they are still available cuz when they run out, they are gone! You can order your's here at The Scrapbook Diaries.  As always, she offers it in Basic and Complete kits so that you all have options.

I hope your summer has been as beautiful as mine has been!  We went wedding dress shopping with my beautiful daughter on the weekend, I think she found the one she loves! So many exciting things happening around here :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I always appreciate the kind comments and lovely feedback I get from my sweet friends here!
