Garden Journal Cards {Bo Bunny & Tresors de Luxe}

I'm just crazy in love with this beautiful new collection by Bo Bunny called Garden Journal!  It's so easy to create pretty cards using the patterned papers like 'Notebook', "Journal' and 'Postcard' to create whimsical cards.  I purposely left the type of card as blank so that I can use them for whatever purpose arises.

For this card I used some leftover 'Wonder' paper as my card background, then I layered a couple of the postcard designs from the 'Journal' paper.  I then added a bloom cluster from Tresors de Luxe, really sweet handmade blooms from my friend Lucy's etsy shop! (thanks Lucy!!).  And I finished with some natural hemp twine and some coordinating buttons from the Garden Journal collection.

For my second card I used some paper from the Garden Journal 6x6 paper pad (green) as my background.  I had some leftover paper from a project I recently did using the weathered wood design from Bo Bunny's Heritage Collection called 'Register', I cut out a few of the wood planks and put them on the card with foam adhesive dots, laying them on in an uneven pattern.  I then layered on some images from the 'Notebook' paper from Garden Journal.  Again I used a little natural floral cluster from Tresors de Luxe, some natural twine and another coordinating button from the Garden Journal collection.

Products used in these 2 Cards:
Patterned Paper:  Garden Journal/Wonder, Notebook, Journal, Pastel, Heritage/Register (Bo Bunny)
6x6 Paper Pad: Garden Journal (Bo Bunny)
Garden Journal Buttons (Bo Bunny)
Blooms: Tresors de Luxe
Other: cheesecloth, hemp twine

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! These gorgeous Bo Bunny collections are in stores now!  And if you are looking for beautiful lace, trims and blooms, have a peek at the lovely offerings at the Tresors de Luxe Etsy Shop HERE.   We have the Maple Syrup Festival this weekend, hope the weather won't be too cold to have some fun!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Getting My Family Wedding Photos Scrapped {Maja Design & Dusty Attic}

Cherish_Scrapbook_page_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_02

Hi everyone!  I'm so happy to be sharing with you all my first layout using the NEW Limited Edition 'Nyhavn' collection by Maja Design!  I really love the sunny, pretty colors in this collection, and when I saw the nautical elements in the papers, I knew that I had found the perfect papers to scrap a photo I took of my niece and her hubby.

  Nyhavn-P

 My niece's reception was at a yacht club, and she chose nautical elements for her decor.  Add to that, her wedding colors where orange and blue, two colors that are prevalent in this lovely collection. So this collection was just the ticket to get this photo scrapped!

  Cherish_Scrapbook_page_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_03

I used 'The Sunny Side' paper as my base and dabbed a little Ingvild Bolme chalk inks (Rusty Keys, Vintage Pink) around my photo area and the small cluster in the top right side of the page.  I then added a bit of texture with some home-made texture paste and a few Crafters Workshop Stencils (North Star, Art Is, Time Travel).

  Cherish_Scrapbook_page_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_05

I mounted this paper on the 'Sitting at the Dock' paper, I also used this paper as the matting behind my photo. I cropped  it to look like uneven pieces of weathered board. All the chipboard I used on this page is from Dusty Attic (Elegant Swirl #3, Elegant Swirl 13, Word Pack #4, Skeleton Clock Frames). I kept the chipboard bare with just touches of grey and white to stay with the weather wood look of the papers. I also did a little bit of stamping with a Graphic45 'By The Sea' stamp set.

  Cherish_Scrapbook_page_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_04
The lovely pearl/lace strip running down the left side of the page is from Tresors de Luxe,...if you are a person that likes to add fabric elements to your projects, Lucy's etsy shop is a must see!  Her vintage lace, fabric blooms and trinkets are pure elegance! The blooms I used on this page where one of my favorite finds (from a couple years ago) at Michaels, I got a 6 pack of these blossoms for $1.50!!  Sadly most of them were sold out by the time I got to them, but I was happy to get my hands of the few that were there!

I hope you all enjoyed today's project, if you are looking to get yourself some Dusty Attic chipboard, you can either order direct from Dusty Attic (they are having a 20% off sale right now through to the end of the month), or you can find Dusty Attic in the USA at Moments of Tranquility and The Scrapbook Diaries (both online stores also carry Maja Design papers), in Canada at The Scrapping Bug.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, your sweet comments and feedback always make my day! xo

So Sweet {Dusty Attic & Maja Design}

Hi all, today I have another page to share with you using Maja Design papers and Dusty Attic Chipboard (as well as a few lovely page accents sent to me from Lucy at Tresors de Luxe).  As I was scrapping this recent photo of my youngest daughter, I was struck by how much she's grown up.  I can't believe she is a teenager now (turned 13 over the summer).  I miss her being my baby girl, but I also have enjoyed every stage of her life, this girl cracks me up with her funny sense of humour and quirky style. For this page I used a modge podge of Maja Design papers.  I more often than not combine a variety of Maja papers, coordinating them by color rather than collection name.

So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_04 I used a variety of scraps in neutral tones and greens to make my rolled paper accents.  I rolled up the scraps and then bound them with some twine.  I added a fun l'il door hook on the side of my paper from Ingvild Bolme's Junkyard Findings.

  So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_05

I used a variety of Dusty Attic chipboard as part of my page design, including a Skeleton Clock Frame, Foliage, and the 'So Sweet' title.  For the frame I first painted the pieces with some white Gesso.  Then I randomly dabbed on some 'Broken China' and 'Peeled Paint' Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  I did a little edging with Ingvild Bolme's 'Branch Bark' Chalk Ink.  Then I added a coat of Inksenttials Crackle Medium.  When it was dry  and crackled I dabbed on some 'Walnut Stain' Distress ink so that it got in the little cracks and whipped off the excess ink.

  So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_03

I used the 11th of March-bs paper as the green background frame for my page and as the main background paper I used the backside of 'Flannel Shirt' paper from 'Walking in the Forest Collection'....this is one of my favorite papers to use as a nice neutral background, especially when I do some mixed media on the page as I did here.  I used a bit of Broken China and Peeled Paint Distress ink pads on the page and added some texture with home-made texture paste and a Crafter's Workshop Stencil called 'Mini Damask'.  The butterfly is an image that I printed on a piece of transparency and cut out.

  So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_06

I wanted to keep my blossoms soft and clean, so I went with a burlap bloom from Petaloo and two white blossoms from Dusty Attic Designs.  The small sugared dots are from Prima.

  So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_08

The strip of lace I used on the bottom of the page and the natural floral cluster (just above the title) are both from Tresors de Luxe.  I had a little fun with the title.  First I gave it a coat of brown chalk ink 'Knotted Wood' by Ingvild Bolme, then I used some 'Waterfall' Stickles in the center of my alpha's.  After it all dried I gave the whole thing a coat of gloss medium with some Glossy Accents.

Maja Design Products used in this project:

Vintage Spring Basics (11th of March-bs, 7th of April, 7th of April-bs), Antiglen (Kaffe på trappan), Walking in the Forest (Flannel Shirt-bs), Sofiero (brown dot). I hope you enjoyed today's project and hope you find yourself some time this week to get your Maja on.

Dusty Attic Products used in this project:

~ Skeleton Clock Frames
~ Foliage
~ 'So Sweet' title chippie

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, you ladies are all awesome, the comments you leave here really touch my heart, thanks for that! xo xo

Summer Hike {Bo Bunny 'Madeleine'}

We did a little hike on a past long weekend, so I totally took this time for a photo op!  My girls get along pretty well, they are always there for each other, but like all siblings, there is always that little bit of rivalry....this picture says it all, lol.  For this page I used a variety of papers from the Bo Bunny Madeleine collection.

I like to do a corner cluster to balance a page. For this I used some of the Bo Bunny wood embellishments along with some chipboard and buttons from the Madeleine collection.

For my corner cluster of embellishments I used some beautiful handmade blooms sent to me from Lucy at 'Tresors de Luxe' mixed with some chipboard accents, buttons from Madeleine collection and more wood accents.

I began my design by spritzing some of the NEW Tutu Spritz from Bo Bunny, and then applied some texture paste with a couple of the new stencil designs from Bo Bunny.  LOVE their script design!

Bo Bunny Products used on this layout:
Patterned Paper: Madeleine, Charm, Elegance / Madeleine
Combo Stickers: Madeleine
Chipboard: Madeleine
Wood Shapes:  Iron Works, Camera Kraft Wood Shapes
Buttons: Madeleine
Jewels:  Primrose
Glimmer Sprays: Tutu
Stencils: Brocade, Bliss Stickable Stencils

I still have lots of summer photos to scrap, even though we are moving into Fall.  So I know I better get my scrappin' on, because soon I'll get to scrap my Fall/winter photos with Bo Bunny's newest releases.  Have you seen the peek at the newest collections coming out from Bo Bunny??  I love them all!!  Here is a link to their website in case you missed them .... Bo Bunny Website .... Just click on the collection name to view all the new goodies.  I can't decide which collection is my favorite, I think Rose Cafe, is for sure in the running, but I love the colors and designs in Altitude and Star Crossed as well....loving the alphabet sticker sheet in Star Crossed, just the perfect size for me!  Which is your favorite collection?

It's all about Scrapping Friends! {Maja Design & Dusty Attic}

Fun Friends

Hi there, ....so happy you could stop by my blog today!  I want to share with you today a layout I made of my oldest daughter and one of her dear friends.  Summer is here and the house is busy with my kids and their friends, so I've taken the opportunity to get more pictures taken.  Chloe has a collage on her wall with her friends and she wanted me to update these photos.

  Coffe-in-the-Arbour-K21  I used a variety of papers from the 'Coffee in the Arbour' collection by Maja Design to make this mixed media style page.  I used : Raspberry Lemonade, Raspberry Jam, Rose Garden (front and backside) and Let's Share a Cookie. (BTW, if you are looking for this beautiful collection pack here in North America, you can get it from Janene at The Scrapbook Diaries, I've linked her further down in this post).

  Fun Friends close1

I embellished with some flowers that I got from Recollections (pleated pink blooms) and Tresors de Luxe (deep rose...click on the link to check out her shop!), and a new thing I like to use to finish a bloom cluster....Spanish Moss!  I picked up an inexpensive pack of this stuff at a local dollar store, one package goes a long long way, but I find it adds a nice natural touch to a floral cluster.

  Fun Friends close3

I also embellished with some of my favourite leafy chipboard pieces from Dusty Attic (Leafy Stems #2), I primed them with Gesso and then inked with some Ingvilde Bolme chalk inks (Green Moss, Branch Bark).  I gave the chipboard pieces a bit of texture as well with some Glossy Accents. (If any of you are looking where to order Dusty Attic chipboard, you can find a huge selection at my friend Janene's online store The Scrapbook-Diaries  and Natasha's store 'Moments of Tranquility')

  Fun Friends close4

 I also did a little stamping on around the photo area (with Bo Bunny Stamps) and added a bit of texture with texture paste and a circle stencil.  And what's a mixed media layout without some fun paint effects.  I used Shimmerz 'Bamboo Leaf' Spritz (green color) and some 'Plum Pudding' Shimmerz paint (I just applied the plum paint with the tip of my finger rubbing it in to get the fade out effect). You can order Shimmerz Products directly from their website, Shimmerz Paints....and don't forget....If you would like a FREE/Bonus Shimmerz product added to your order, mention my name 'Gabrielle' in the INSTRUCTIONS TO MERCHANT part at the end of your order and you will be shipped an extra Shimmerz product in the color of your choice!

  Fun Friends close5

I finished the page off with the fun epoxy title stickers from Heidi Swapp.  I love the fun handwriting design in these epoxy stickers!

I hope you enjoyed my post today and hope that if you haven't played with this beautiful collection yet, that you will have the opportunity soon! Thanks so much for all your sweet comments, they always make my day! xo

Summer Freshness with 'Coffee in the Arbour' {Maja Design}

Hello my friends!  I'm in such a great mood today,   I so 'delighted' to be sharing with you all my first layout using the gorgeous new 'Coffee in the Arbour' collection by Maja Design! I received my collection package a few days ago in the mail and I literally dug into it the second it got here! :)

I just love the beautiful summery images in this collection, just looking at these papers puts a spring in my step and ....maybe a little hunger in my tummy! LOL!

One of my favorite papers in this collection is the "Delicious Moments" paper, the beautiful hand painted vignettes evoke feelings of bliss and happiness. So I knew I had to include at least one of the pretty pictures in my first design. I wanted to keep a shabby-chic look to the page design so I tore the edges of the picture to keep a distressed look to it.

I wanted to frame the pretty 'Enjoying the moment' paper with a complementary color paper but I didn't want to lose the designs close to the edges. So I trimmed out the design I wanted to keep and then bought the edge down into the page creating a little 'arbour' effect with a trellis design underneath it. I also used a harlequin stamp (Prima) and some text/script stamps (Bo Bunny) around the photo area. I was so delighted to find an awesome paint spray that is the perfect match to this collections pretty deep rose colors. I used Shimmerz 'Bed of Roses' Spritz paint for the background behind the photo area, it has the nice deep, cool rose color that goes well with the images in the papers. (NOTE:  if you are looking to add some Shimmerz paints to your mixed media products be sure to put my name 'Gabrielle Pollacco' into the INSTRUCTIONS TO MERCHANT space when you check out, you will then be sent a FREE sample sized jar of Dazzlerz or Texturez or a full sized bottle of Dimensionz or Shimmerz of your color choice)...you can find the Shimmerz online store HERE).

And speaking of delight.....that's what I see in my youngest daughters face in these photos. She had lost her front teeth in this pic but that did not discourage her from giving me some big gummy smiles! The chipboard title I used here is a new one from Dusty Attic Designs. I painted it with gesso, then gave it a little bit of Shimmerz Key Lime paint at the edges and then gave the whole thing a coat of Glossy Accents.

I used a variety of blooms on this one, some lose blooms from Michaels (in the bargain bin) and some Recollections blooms as well. The small white blooms are Prima and the natural cluster with the twine are from Tressors de Luxe etsy shop.

Maja Design papers used in this project: Coffee in the Arbour (Enjoying the Moment, Raspberry Jam, Delicious Moments), Vintage Autumn Basics (XVI).

Looking for Maja Design papers in North America?  My friend Janene at the Scrapbook Diaries just got in the full collection of 'Coffee in the Arbour', she has them available as full collection packs (12x12 and 6x6 for the cardmakers out there) and in individual sheets....you can find her HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and for all the kind and sweet feedback you all leave me in your comments, they mean so much to me! xo xo

Scrapping Pink! {Maja Design and Tresors de Luxe}

Hi everyone! Today I have a 'pretty in pink' layout to share with you, using Maja design papers, Dusty Attic Chipboard and lots of lovely goodies from Tresors de Luxe Etsy shop.  I almost feel a little guilty sharing this layout because this is from a Maja Design Limited Edition collection that I believe is now sold out....but then of course, that means that a lot of you have this collection in your stash, and might like to see more samples done with this collection.

Sofiero-P

I just love the florals and beautiful pinks and greens in this collection. The papers I used for this project are.....

Maja Design Papers:
Sofiero (Royal Summer Recidence, Enjoying the Lovely Fragrance, Romantic Picnic in the Park, Stroling Down the Rose Path).

I was given these beautiful handmade blooms (Multi-color Chiffon Flowers) from my friend Lucy at Tresors de Luxe Etsy site. When I saw the pretty fabric blooms I thought immediately of the the Maja Design Sofiero collection, I just knew these blooms would work well with these papers!  Lucy has such an amazing collection of beautiful handcrafted blooms in her store and her vintage lace is absolutely gorgeous.  I also used one of her 'Shabby-chic Floral Clusters' on this page along with some of her lovely vintage lace.  If you haven't visited Lucy's shop before, you are in for a treat!

I love these papers so much that I've used up most of my stash, but I still had lots of bits and pieces left, so I used some of these to make the little ribbon banners coming out of the side of my page design. I added machine stitching to the paper ribbons to give more of a 'fabric' look to them.

I accented my page with a few pieces of  Dusty Attic chipboard (Skeleton Clock frame, Folliage, Wrought Iron Fence, Speech Bubbles, Ornate Corner #6). I also added a bit of of texture with home-made texture paste and a Crafters Workshop stencil (Mini-Damask).

A question I get asked a lot is where you can find Maja Design Papers and Dusty Attic chipboard in North America.  I try to keep up to date links in my side panel of my blog as sources for my blog folowers....but two shops that carry a good supply are:
The Scrapbook Diaries (For Maja Design Papers....and Yes! Janene has ordered in the ENTIRE new 'Coffee in the Arbour' collection!)
Moments of Tranquility (Natasha has a HUGE collection of Dusty Attic chipboard in her online store as well as Maja Design papers).

Thanks so much for stopping by today and letting me share my latest project with you! I appreciate all the sweet comments and feedback! xo xo
