Fun with Bo Bunny Stamps!

I've been wanting to scrap this photo of Meagan and my dad (her Opa/Grandfather) for a long time now.  Our family is big on big family bar-b-ques.  We get together with all our siblings and my parents and the kids just have a blast together. The kids play games like lawn darts, badminton or croquet, while the parents either join in or sit back and sip some wine and snack.  My Dad has always had a special soft spot for Meagan (she's the youngest of the grandkids) and I feel like this photo says it all.

I used a bunch of stamps from different Bo Bunny collections to make up this page.  The patterned papers are a combination of some of the new Weekend Market collection papers and the new Vintage cardstock from Bo Bunny.  I like using my stamps in different ways.  I used some as framing (Enchanted stamps), some as background design (Snowfall script stamp) and another for a decorative element (Chandelier from the Welcome Home collection).

I also added a bit of Dusty Attic chipboard to this page.  I feel like the Skeleton Clock faces work so well with the Bo Bunny Weekend Market collection....I also used one of the Wrought Iron Trim Set as a 'shelf' for the books I cut from one of the Bo Bunny papers. (above)
The flowers above are store bought except for the twine design flower.  That is another fun flower I learned to make on Pinterest!  You can find the design HERE

Some Websters Pages Inspiration

Each month we have a new guest designer who's work is featured at Websters Pages Ning site.  This month our Guest Desiger is the fabulouly talented Carol Monson.  The design team is asked to create a page that is inspired by one of the guest designers layouts.  I used Carol's page called '10 in 2012' as an inspiration for my above page.  I love the way Carol uses multiple photo's to tell her story (and I know a few of you have asked to do some multi-photo layouts...so here is!! :)   You can see Carols layouts at this link as well as the rest of the WP design teams guest inspired pages! Websters Guest Designer.  I called my layout 'Drama Queen' as a nod to my youngest daughter's penchant for 'hamming' things up.  I had asked her to sit on the porch rail in front of her bean plant that accidently got planted in front of the house (before we cut it down...that thing is HUGE!)  ....she proceeded to give me all sorts of dramatic poses before she would let me just take a 'normal' photo :)

I just got a notice on Friday that my Websters Pages design team package is on it's way!! Yippee!  I can't wait!  In the mean time I used a variety of the papers I still had on hand from making pages for the CHA to make the above layout.  I used a combination of 'Everyday Poetry', 'Palm Beach', 'Country Estate'  and 'Yacht Club' collections to make up this page.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Pinterest??!!  I made the flowers in the layout above using a little tutorial I found on Pinterest using pink crepe paper streamers, here is the link Crepe Paper blooms.  (I have also been trying out some GREAT recipes from Pinterest over the weekend...we threw an 54th anniversary party for my parents, one of the things I made was the Chinese Cabbage salad and everyone loved it!  You can follow me on Pinterest by clicking this link PINTEREST) ....okay back to my layout LOL!...I also got my design team package for Dusty Attic a few days ago and WOWEE! they have some fabulous new designs (I'll share more on that in an upcoming post....meanwhile, I used one of their small frame designs in the top right corner of my layout).  Here are some close-up pic's of my page and it's embellishments...

I also recently got this new Martha Stewart punch that does this bracket design...just loving it!  If you have any questions on products or techniques used on my pages please feel free to ask!  In the meantime, thank you so much for all your kind comments! xx

Using Webster's Pages Journaling Cards!

Today I thought I would share a card I made using Webster's Pages Journaling Cards.  There is a package of journaling cards made to coordinate with each of the WP collections, they come in a cute little plastic jewel case.  They are 2 sided and you get 2 of each design in each case.  They are great for adding journaling or a nice design element to your scrapbook pages.  But another fun way to use them is on cards!  Here (below) are the card designs you'd get in the Western Romance package.  I used one of the cards from this package for my card above.
Supplies for this card:
Patterned Paper: Websters Pages Western Romance (Country Fresh, Sweet Romance)
Die Cut paper: Websters Pages Winter Fairy Tale
Alphabet Stickers: Western Romance
Trim: Lace from Winter Fairy Tale collection
Flower: made from cardstock
Paper doilie (literally a cake doilie :)

You can find journaling cards as well for all of the brand new collections that came out at the 2012 Winter CHA (Sunday Picnic, Everyday Poetry, Palm Beach, Game On and In Love).  Thanks for stopping by and for all your kind comments!

Handmade blooms & Bo Bunny's Country Garden

Have I said how much I love Bo Bunny's Country Garden Collection?  Heehee, enough said :)   ....Today's DT assignment was 'Flowers & Flourishes'  So I thought I would fill the page with blooms.  I made the blooms from patterned paper from the Country Garden collection and some Bo Bunny flourish cardstock (Passion Fruit color).  I used the Spellbinders Rose Creations die cuts to cut the flower petals.  The method I used is the tutorial I shared HERE.  Here are some close-ups of this page....

The small leaves were punched with the Martha Stewart leaf punch, the flourishes are from Quickutz (I used my Revolution die cutting machine to cut all the pieces).  The Bo Bunny Country Garden collection should be coming out soon....take my word for it, you'll love this one!  Thanks for stopping in and for all your kind comments, I love to hear from you all (I will try and catch up with everyones blogs soon.....I've just been going through a bit of a medical issue at the moment, found out yesterday I'm severely aneamic, explains why I've been so exhausted of late! But now that I know, I can get to fixing it!!  Catch up with you all soon! xx)

A bit of Everyday Poetry! Websters Pages

Here is another layout I made for the Winter 2012 CHA for the Websters Pages booth.  I used the new Everyday Poetry Collection for this one.  I really love that the Princess Petals now come in a smaller size too! ...and the Dazzle-me-Gems! so pretty with this collection!  I'm really thrilled too that the alphabet stickers are again in the pretty scripted style, I know a lot of you have asked me about those letter stickers, they have to be my all time favourite style of letter sticker, just the perfect size and such a pretty font!  Here are a few close-ups of the page...
I made the smaller flowers by using the Retro Flower punch by EK Success on some of the WP patterned paper, then just drew an outline with pen on the blooms.  Oh! and I picked up a cool new punch by Martha Stewart the other day!  It's a small leaf punch!  It's really come in handy for me!  I used to hand cut small leaves from cardstock, this is sooo much faster.  I just punch a leaf, ink the edges with a little brown chalk ink and give it a bit of a wrinkle.
I used the 'classic' style papers from this collection, but for you scrappers that like a more clean & simple look, there are papers to go with this collection for you too!  Check out today's blog post at Websters Pages blog to see a layout made by another one of our DT members using the clean & simply style! **NEW** Bo Bunny! Country Garden & New Dusty Attic!~LOVE!!

So I had a chance to crack open the NEW Country Garden collection from Bo Bunny!!  Have you seen this collection?  Ohhhh! so beautiful!!  I was in scrappers heaven working with this new collection!  My youngest daughter came in the room to show me the music video for 'Brighter Than the Sun' by Colby Caillat when I was scrapping.  I ended up using the song title and some of the lyrics on the page, between the happy music and the lovely papers I thoroughly enjoyed this scrapping session!  I combined some new Dusty Attic pieces with this collection ...I thought the grasses and vines worked well with the BB papers.  I used the Grass Cluster #1, the Swirl Vine #2 and one of the Ornate frames for this one.

The focus this week for the Bo Bunny post was to use paper ruffles.  For my page I punched a strip of plain white patterned paper and lightly misted it with water.  Then I crinkled/creased the plain edge to create the ruffle (see below)
Here is the ruffle tucked behind my circle design on my paper....it works just as well on wavey or bracket designs too!  Below are close-ups of the cool new Dusty Attic pieces as well (I simply painted them white and added a touch of green tint with chalk inks....

Do you have a favourite song you've been meaning to scrap?  I'd love to hear what they are!  I'm always looking for song titles and lyrics to use on my scrap pages, there is something about scrapping with music that makes me feel  like my page says so much more, do you know what I mean? :)

Wearable Art the Webster's Pages Way!

I thought I would have some fun with some of my Webster's Pages Embellishments.  Webster's Pages is coming out with all these beautiful new cameo's to go with all of their newest collections, so I thought I would play with a cameo, and take it off the page and create some wearable art!  The first one I want to show you is a Fabric Cuff.  I made this by layering a few fabrics (first layer is a felt strip, then a layer of cheese cloth, then a piece of lightweight canvas)  I added some lace on the edges and machine stitched it all together.

I added some lace accents.  (Note:  I stamped some scripted words on the canvas for added design, I used the Webster's Pages Unity stamp called 'Beauty').  I adhered the WP Cameo and added some Websters Pages Dazzle-me-Gems.  Here is the cuff layed out so you can see the whole design....
Think of all the amazing cuffs you can make using some of the newest Websters Pages Silhouettes (Cameos)....here is an example of just a few of the newest Cameo's coming out with the new collections...

The second bracelet I made is super simple and fun to do.  I thought I would do something with Sparklers because Websters Pages has a fun challenge going on right now using Sparklers on your projects (If you'd like to play along and have a chance at a nice WP prize you can find the challenge details HERE)  All you need is a strip of lightweight netting (I got mine off the roll at a fabric store), Some Websters Pages Sparklers (I used the Mauve Medallions) and a few pink beading pearls.
1. Cut a piece of netting about 2" x  20".  Fold in half lengthwise and machine stitch to create casing.
NOTE:  Start your casing about 6 inches in and double back when you begin the machine stitched run, continue to stitch right to the end of the casing but do not double back at the end.  Leave a nice long tail of thread (you will use this thread with a needle to get the pearls onto the netting on the outside) ...Turn the casing inside out so that the raw edge is inside.
2. You will begin with a pearl on the outstide of the netting....the Sparklers will go on the inside of the casing.
3.  You add the pearl beads on the outside by stringing a needle onto the left-over thread from sewing the casing.  It takes a little finessing but if the bead has a decent size hole and the netting is fine enough the bead will slip over the netting.  Another option is to use a decorative DMC floss and tie off the netting between each Sparkler.
If you cannot find some of these Websters Pages products at your local scrap stores, you can let your store owner know that you'd like to have them carried there....or you can order directly online from the Websters Pages Website ... Thanks for stopping by today! xx

Here is a layout I made up for the Winter CHA using the **NEW** Webster's Pages Palm Beach collection.  Love the soothing pretty colors in this collection.   The stripes make me think of fresh clean beach towels, and as always there are beautiful and fun images that work well for those who like to do fussy cutting on their pages.  As with all the new collections, they have come out with the Classic papers and the Clean & Simple collection as well.  I embellished with a snippit of fish netting and caught some Webster's Sparklers and Dazzle Me Gems in the netting along with a strand of Pearls....
