Bo Bunny's Mama-razzi2 and Their Amazing Background Stamps!!

This is a page I made for the Winter CHA for the Bo Bunny booth using the gorgeous new Mama-razzi2 collection!  I love the way the papers work well for both masculine and feminine style layouts!.   I used loads of their coordinating embellishments on this page and some of their new blooms and lace as well.

One of the really cool new things that they brought out at this last show is the Background stamps! I used a few of them on this page above.  One is a texture stamp and the other is a script stamp. They have everything from brick walls, chicken wire, stains, script, flourishes and geometric designs!  You can view them all HERE
This is another layout I made for the Winter CHA for the Bo Bunny team, this time using the C'est La Vie Collection.  I had a cute pic of my little Great-niece Kiera that I wanted to scrap and this collection had all the colors in the photo!
Again, I used a variety of the coordinating embellishments from C'est La Vie on this page and lots of the background stamps as well, including the Distressed Textures stamp, the 'It is Written' stamp set and the 'Flourishes and Such stamp set.  Here are more close-up shots of the page....

I'm just crazy about both these paper collections and I love the way the stamps help create a page that is uniquely yours!  Hope you all have a great and scrappy weekend! xo

Like a Basket of Fresh Berries! {Maja Design ~ Life in the Country}

That's what I think of when I see the gorgeous selection of red patterned papers in the Life in the Country Collection ! I LOVE the dotty red paper and the beautiful scripted floral design paper, ... and the pretty gingham....it all makes me think of picking a basket of fresh strawberries in Summer! And I thought it would be the perfect collection of papers to compliment this happy picture of my little niece Jade, as she's splashing around in a creek.
This would be my version of a more 'Clean & Simple' style of layout. My pages can often get very fussy and busy, but this time I thought I'd pair the pretty patterned papers with simple white card stock so that they really pop. Here are a few close-up details of the page...
I used some store bought Prima flowers and mixed them with a handmade bloom I made from the plaid paper called 'Porch', I used a Spellbinders die cut called 'Spiral Blossom #1' to make the bloom. I thought it gave the page a more home-spun appeal adding this flower.

I added chipboard swirls from Dusty Attic and I finished them with a dark red paint and Glossy Accents to give them a deep rich shine. I also did a wee bit of background stamping and light inking with Prima's Moulin Rouge stamp and Versa Mark Dew Drops Ink. To complete the 'country' look I added just a touch of paper lace doilies and a bit of burlap (I love adding burlap for some nice texture!). Here are the supplies I used to create this page....

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Life in the Country (Summer Kitchen, Summer Kitchen-bs, Porch, Berries with Ice, In the Hammock-bs....don't you just love the names of the papers!!!), Dusty Attic Chipboard, Flowers: Prima (Primrose Sangria), Spellbinders die cut (Spiral Blossom #1), White blooms: Petaloo, Stamp: Prima (Moulin Rouge), Title rub-on: Daisy D's, Adhesive Pearls: Queen & Co. Ink: Versa Mark (Pretty Pastels Dew Drops).

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget, I have a nice give-away going at my blog of the new Maja Design Spring collection called 'Vintage Spring Basics'. You can now view the full collection in the products section HERE (these papers are sooooo very beautiful!!!) If you want to have a chance of winning this gorgeous collection, check out this link before March 31st!  Gabrielles Blog

Here are just a few of my favourites from this new collection! So excited to start scrapping with these beauties!....

In the Mood for Spring {With Websters Pages 'Modern Romance'!}

I've pretty much had enough of winter now and want to just look to Spring.  And what better collection to do this with but Webster's Pages Modern Romance!  I love all the fresh and pretty florals in this collection.  For this page I did a whole lotta fussy cutting from one of my favourite papers from this collection, the one with all the floral tags (below)...
I basically just cut out a few of the blooms and used them as an embellishment by popping them out from behind the photo, giving them a little more 3D effect by using pop dots behind them.

For  the bottom corner I embellished using one of the NEW Websters Pages Perfect accents frames (it was a bright yellow, but I wanted something lighter so I just painted it white, I combined it with one of the older WP cameos.  The swirly chipboard is from Dusty Attic.

The photo is one of my great-niece Jade, doing a little coloring.  The photo put a smile on my face, so I wanted the layout to be more light-hearted, so I called it 'creative' giving the definition for creative being 'coloring outside the lines' lol!

Mixed Media Dusty Attic Journal Cover!

Hi Everyone!  I thought I would share a project I made this month using the beautiful Dusty Attic Journal and some mixed media techniques.  I started out by using the Dusty Attic Soot paint on the whole outside binding of the journal book.  I love the flat black finish it gives!  I then brushed some gold paint on the edges of front cover.
Next step was to paint the Dusty Attic Corner Scroll #2 and the Mini Cogs with some gold paint brushed with silver paint.  Then I made up my polymer clay piece.  I shared a mini verson of making a polymer clay design, if you missed it you can view the tutorial below....

I baked off my polymer clay design (adding the chipboard pieces after the piece was baked).  I added some cheesecloth spray painted black and brushed with gold paint onto the front cover, and then glued on my finished polymer clay design on top of it all.  Next step is to glue on the corner chipboard pieces and add dots of bronze 3D paint (Scribbles) to the edges of the book and on the corner scrolls.
Here below you can see a close-up view of the polymer clay piece....
I finished the whole design by adding a variety of ribbons onto the spine of the journal/book.  Below I've shown the products I used from Dusty Attic to make up this project.
Hope you give some of these techniques a try!!  Here is my full list of supplies for this project:
Supplies:
Dusty Attic Journal
Chipboard: Dusty Attic Corner Scrolls #2, Mini Cogs (16 piece)
Dusty Attic Color: Acrylic Paints (Soot, Fine Silver, Vintage Gold)
Polymer Clay: Sculpey or Fimo (Black, Gold, Green)
Mica Powders:  Pearlex (multipac)
Stamps: Prima frames, K&Company
Glass beads, seed beads
Other: Cheesecloth, Ribbon, 3D paint Scribbles

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Polymer Clay and Chipboard ATC!!

Every month Dusty Attic has a fun little ATC challenge (with a Dusty Attic Prize!) and each month they have a different theme for the challenge.  This month (March) the challenge is 'Industrial'.  I gave the theme a lot of thought and decided I wanted to take a more 'natural' element like a Dusty Attic  Monarch butterfly and making it 'industrial' by adding Dusty Attic chipboard cogs and Nuts and Bolts to dress it up.
And in keeping with the metalic look of the butterfly, I decided to make my ATC (Artist Trading Card - 2.5"x 3.5" card) using polymer clay instead of using paper this time around.  I thought you all might enjoy watching a Video Tutorial I made up in using Polymer Clay, Mica Powders (Pearlex), and chipboard to make a mixed media ATC.  (I promise, this one is a lot shorter than the last video tutorial I made, but I think you might want to enjoy a cuppa coffee while you watch! :)

Hope you enjoyed my video!  And I hope you give some of these techniques a try!  I have another mixed media, polymer clay/chipboard project to share with you all on the 11th, so please stop by to have a peek! ~Gabrielle xo

It's Shipping Week at Websters Pages!!

Webster's Pages is shipping out all of their new collections this week so there is lot's of excitement going on at the Webster's Pages blog!  We're sharing new projects made with all of our favourite new collections, and for me a big favourite is "New Beginnings"...I love the sweet florals and Spring colors in this one, the perfect 'happy' fix for those grey winter days.  I made the card above using some scraps I had left over from a layout I made, added one of Webster's Pages new Charms and some blooms and Perfect Accents.....quick and easy!!
Here's a close-up of some of the page details....taking a minute to add a little machine stitching sometimes makes all the difference in adding the finishing touches to a page.  I've been asked by a few people how I stitch.  I almost always do machine stitching as I'm usually short on time!  But I also should mention that I use a heavy gage thread and set the stitch on one of the highest settings so I get a larger stitch....this tends to give the stitching on the project a little more 'umph'!

Since I was in the mood for cardmaking, I thought I'd make another one up using some of my older stash from the Websters Pages Best Friends collection...
I love the book paper in this collection so I thought I'd use this paper and try stamping on it to create a nice feminine page. The brown brocade papers is also from the Best Friends collection....the chipboard is of course Dusty Attic.

Hope you liked my cards....and get ready.....these new collections should be in your local stores soon! xo

New Bo Bunny Misc Me Life Journal!

There has been a lot of excitement lately over these fun 'Project Life' albums and Bo Bunny has come up with some quick and beautiful ways for everyone to enjoy this style of scrapping!  There is this fabulous new collection they've come up with called Misc. Me! A beautiful collection of 3 ring binders, plastic photo/page sleaves, gorgeous tab pages, phrase cards etc. to make putting together an album a super easy task!

The binders come already looking very beautiful in 3 different styles (the one above is the C'est La Vie Binder).....you can leave it as is an maybe just throw a title on it or you can doll it all up with some of the gorgeous coordinating goodies Bo Bunny makes to go with it!
Here I've dressed my cover up with my favourite Bo Bunny Blossoms, Jewel Flourishes, dimensional stickers, Bo Bunny lace and trinkets and dimensional stickers.  Today our sweet design team coordinator Kris Sylvester did a cute li'l video clip on Youtube showing my binder and some of the tips to putting it together.  You can find it on the Bo Bunny blog HERE.  And even cooler, you can go to an amazing site called Crafts 'n Things to find a whole tutorial on how to put this album cover together!  This site has a new tutorial on crafting every day!

I have to tell you this book came in really handy the last couple of weeks!  My sister and I came up with the idea to do a special book up for my parents 55th anniversary party.  We thought it would be fun to put together a family recipe book that touched on the memories of our family as enjoyed at the table of my parents.  All the kids, our spouses, the grandchildren....all put in recipes and food memories of time spent at 'Oma & Opa's' table.  It turned out to be a touching book of photo's, recipies and most special of all, the memories associated with the foods eaten.  ....The problem was that we came up with the idea a little late, we had hoped to make it into a bound photo book until we realized that it would take a couple of weeks to get it back from the printers!  Well, same day as we realized this, my Bo Bunny packet showed up.....what a god-send!  It worked perfectly for our purposes!  It took a little quick work from both my sister and I but in the end we came up with a beautiful gift to my parents from the whole family!

So what type of albums have you all been working on?  I'd love to hear some clever idea's for these project life style books!
