Love Always VIDEO TUTORIAL! {TCW Stencils}

Hi All! So I'm back with another video tutorial....and I went wayyy out of my comfort zone with this one.  I always try to get in and read all the feedback on my tutorials and one of the things I've been asked a few times is if I'd consider narrating on my tutorials.  Well, I'm one of those people who can't stand the sound of their own voice.  When I get nervous my voice is low, my throat gets dry...well, you get the idea.  But never-the-less I went and tried it out anyways.  So this is a layout I gave you all a peek at a little while back on which I used a NEW stencil I designed for TCW (The Crafter's Workshop), it's called 'Tile Mania'.  For this one I used the 12" x 12" stencil (but it also comes in the 6"x6" size. TCW662.  So without any further ado, hear is my tutorial!....

The photo is of my oldest daughter and her fiancee, they are getting married in May and this photo was one of my many favorites from their engagement photo shoot.

Most of the products I used on this page can be found in one place....The Scrapbook Diaries!  I didn't do this one as a kit as this was a sample page I made for the TCW trade show booth.  But the most of the products I used were from The Scrapbook Diaries.  You can find the papers, the stamps (Gabi's Patterned Textures and Gabi's Postcards From Paris), the stencil, the flowers, burlap, twine, texture paste, Gesso and even some of the chipboard and embellishments at The Scrapbook Diaries, I believe she even has Perfect Pearls there too? (at least I got them from her in the first place, LOL)

The gems where from my local dollar store. In Canada we have Dollarama, I often find odds and ends there that I can add to my pages..  Here you can see how I added the gems to the cross sections of my stencil design. You can also see some of the script stamping I did with my Postcards from Paris stamp set (also at The Scrapbook Diaries)

Another little closeup of the accent area on my layout....I like to throw a little accent area in to balance the page design.  The little blue buds were part of a kit I made up for The Scrapbook Diaries a little while back.  If Janene doesn't have these in her store, I know that many craft stores carry these or something similar in a variety of colors.

I hope you guys enjoyed watching this video tutorial and weren't too put off by my voice! lol......now I've got to get back to wedding plans, like a true mom I've decided to take on a lot of the work myself....wedding cake, flower arranging, decorating....yipes!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and thanks for the kind comments you all are always leaving me, I really appreciate it!

Mosaic Video Tutorial! {TCW & Shimmerz Paints}

So guess what?! The stencils are finally hitting the stores!  Just got word from Janene over at The Scrapbook Diaries that the NEW stencils I designed for TCW (The Crafter's Workshop) are finally in the house!  (I was a little premature showing my last tutorial for the Bride book....got a lot of emails asking where to get,...and they weren't in yet! lol!)  This time I have somewhere to send you! :)

For this project I used the stencil I designed for The Crafters Workshop called 'Stained Glass Daisies' TCW657.  The photo you see above is an extra canvas I made using acrylic paints.  But in the following video tutorial I used a variety of Shimmerz Paints Products to create my Mosaic canvas.  Time to grab yourself a cup of coffee (or tea), kick back, relax and enjoy!

Hope you enjoyed my little tutorial....and easy, right?  Almost like painting in a coloring book!  And you get a mosaic effect without having to cut and match pieces, it's all done for you, just a few swipes with some texture paste and your can get your creative on with coloring!

This is a still shot of the stencil I created in the video tutorial using the Shimmerz paints, here I used a wash in the 'grout' lines, giving more of a vintage look.  For the canvas at the top of this blog I simply used TCW's Black Gesso for the background and TCW's Ultra Thick Molding Paste for the stencil and then painted with some favorite acrylic paint colors.

But Getting back to the canvas in the video....I used a variety of Shimmerz Paints products for this one and finished the design by adding some Dusty Attic Grasses at the bottom of the canvas.

Shimmerz Paint Products used in this Tutorial:

Creameez: Get Glowing, Peachie Keen, Sage It Isn't So, Boogie Boardin' Blue, Purple Rain, Black Cherry Cola, Strawberry Fields
Inklingz: Greener Pastures
Coloringz: Chocolate Brownie

You can pick up your Shimmerz Paints HERE.  NOTE: Be sure to mention my name 'Gabrielle' in your next order to receive a FREE/Bonus Shimmerz Paints product in the color of your choice!

Just imagine all the places you can use this mosaic stencil design....on the cover of an art journal, ...on a tissue box cover,...on a keepsake box....I can't wait to see what you all come up with using this fun new stencil!  Be sure to tag me in if you post something using the stencil, I just love to see what you all create using them!  As I mentioned you can now find them at The Scrapbook Diaries (USA & Canada, she also ships International)....I also heard that The Mad Scrapper in the UK has them in as well!  (Just click on the links to take you there).  If you don't like to shop online you can always check your local scrap store or art shop (many now carry TCW products!)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  I always appreciate and read all the lovely comments and feedback! They make my day! xo

NEW Video Tutorial - Bonsai Tree Canvas {TCW Stencils & Dusty Attic)

Hi All! I have finally gotten around to putting together my video tutorial for a canvas I made for the winter Creativation Show in Phoenix for TCW (The Crafter's Workshiop).  This art canvas features two stencils I design for TCW one is a stencil I designed last year called Organic Matter, the other is a NEW one I designed called Jungle Vines...

I also used a few of my favorite Dusty Attic chipboard pieces, a fairly new frame called Ornate Frame #5 and another called Feathered Charm #3...and a very cool title chippie called Blueprint Dream.

This video tutorial is a 2 parter which includes a small tutorial on how I made the polymer clay Bonsai Tree center piece so it's a few minutes longer than my usual tutorials.  Hope you all enjoy!

This was a really fun canvas to do and I hope you all give it (or something like it) a try!The tree center piece was easy to make and the result is something that to me resembles something that looks like cast bronze!

And how fun is that flourishy art deco looking frame?  for this I used a variety of metalic paints and glitter glue. (All the products are listed in the description area under the Youtube video).

I used Sculpey polymer clay to make the tree and with a few easy steps, you can make it too.  I like to take the time to use the tip of a knife to put in a few etching lines in the 'bark', this shows up well when you add the Pearlex mica powder before you bake off the piece.

Here's a close up of the title chippie by Dusty Attic...I love the blue print series of title's that they recently produced....you can see how I did the finish in the video above.

Another fun little addition I've been adding to a lot of my tutorials lately is the use of Prills, these colorful cute lil pebbles.  For this project I used a color appropriately named 'Ribbit' :)  I believe Janene has these (Prills) available at her store at The Scrapbook Diaries as well....you can find them HERE.

And how cute are these 'Feather Charm' chippies?  The Dusty Attic designed a variety of styles in this chippie, this one I used is Feather Charm #3.  I sued a bit of 3D metalic paint on it to give it even more texture.

You can find TCW Stencils and Dusty Attic Chipboard at The Scrapbook Diaries (for those of you in USA and Canada), in Australia (or Internationally) you can order direct from The Dusty Attic website (for chipboard) and you can order both the TCW Stencils and Dusty Attic chipboard from The Mad Scrapper in the UK.The Stencils can also be found at Scrapbook.com and any craft stores that carry TCW products.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, your kind comments and feedback are always appreciated.  I know I've been slow in getting up my tutorials lately with working on all the wedding plans for my oldest daughter (just a few more months!)  But I'll try and get busy with lots more tutorials to come, I have another one coming up this Saturday (March 4rth).  In the meantime enjoy this one, and give it a go! xo

NEW Video Tutorial *Bride Book* {TCW Stencils}

Hi all! I'm back today to share with you all a video tutorial I made up using another NEW stencil I designed for The Crafter's Workshop stencils.  This one is called 'She Said Yes" TCW659s (6x6") and the "You Are my Sunshine" TCW660s (6x6")....I made it in two sizes utilizing the 12x12 inch stencil for the larger book.

In the following video I show how I made the bride book (can be used as a guest sign in book or photo book) out of some cardboard, paper and stencils with texture paste. Enjoy!
You can watch on my Youtube channel HERE if you prefer to watch it larger.

.

Hope you enjoyed my video!  This stencils are a brand NEW release for TCW and are being shown at the Creativation CHA show in Phoenix as we speak....so stores are ordering and should be in stores soon!  I noticed many of you are asking when/where to get.  I know for sure that The Scrapbook Diaries have ordered these stencils and will have them in the online store soon (Janene is a CHA right now as well so her store is on hold for a few days)....and of course if you have a local scrap store that carries TCW, they should have them soon as well (if your local store doesn't carry them, you can always ask to order them in, many stores like to hear what their customers would like to see in stores.)

Thanks again for stopping by my blog today, I always enjoy reading your kind words and feedback, makes my day! xo

Another Sneak Peek! {TCW Stencils}

So it's my turn today to share another sneak peek of some of the stencils I've designed for The Crafter's Workshop!  Here is a little portion of a project I've been working on using this one called, My Sunshine #TCW660.

I'd like to say that I have a video tutorial for this one as well, but this one is still to be determined....I did a close up of a product while filming and then it put the rest of my filming into a blur! ugh! I will see if I can still salvage enough of this one to put together a tutorial or at least show some of the techniques I used on this one.

These stencils will be available January 15th!  Be sure to stop by the TCW (The Crafter's Workshop) booth at the winter CHA if you are going, check out the new stencils and see some of these projects in real life!

Thanks for stopping by today! xo

Shhhh! A Sneak Peek of One of my NEW TWC Stencils!!

I know many of you have been asking about why they've seen so little of my work on my social media and my Youtube Channel lately.  Well, I've been busily making 8 NEW stencil designs for TCW (The Crafter's Workshop) for their upcoming new releases for the Winter CHA (Craft and Hobby Show).  And along with creating these fun stencils I've also created some projects to show how I would use these stencils.

The stencils will be available by January 15th and will be shown at the Winter CHA (at the TCW booth along with a whole bunch of projects I made using them!)  As always they come in two sizes, 6x6 inches and 12x12 inches.

This is just a little peek....can you tell I've had my mind on mosaics lately?  This project came together quick and easy. As soon as I get the go ahead I will be showing this project in full with lots of close-ups, tips and tricks and of course a full video tutorial on how I made it.

I will have more and more sneak peeks to share with you all as the CHA draws closer but before I leave you all today I just wanted to share one more bit of awesome news!  Did you know that TCW makes their own line of mixed media products now?  I was so very excited to get my hands on these beauties and give them a go....and boy, they did not disappoint!  I've absolutely been loving using them, I've pretty near emptied that thick Modeling Paste, a treat to work with!

I hope my little peek has whet your appetite for more because I've got lots more to share. It felt nice being able to just play again (I love designing products but I love using the products even more!).

Thanks so much to all of you who have shown so much sweet support in your kind comments and in the use of the products I design....nothing gives me more pleasure than to see what others are doing with the products I put out there!  Looking forward to seeing what you lovely creative people out there will be doing with my newest designs!  Sending loads of love to you all! xo

NEW Kit & Video Tutorial {The Scrapbook Diaries}

When Janene sent me these adorable wood chippies I knew I had to make a fun kit out of it using some of my favorite Prills embellishments for The Scrapbook Diaries.  I used a cute photo of a bike for my page but the title and the pretty embellishments can work beautifully on a photo of a special person in your life as well.

Isn't that little wheel-barrow adorable! And it was so quick and easy to make!  In minutes you can make your own unique embellishment with items found in this kit.

I just love the scripty title chippie that comes with this kit too....it adds a pretty touch without taking over the page. The kit also includes the 'Postcards from Paris' stamp set I recently designed for The Scrapbook Diaries.  I thought the scripty writing, the postcards and Cone flowers added a pretty background design for this page, especially when used with the brown chalk ink (also included in the kit).

I have been itching to use this beautiful set of lilac/white blooms from 49 & Market and was happy to get to use them with the fun lavender chippies in this kit.  I added a little double hemp bow to make the corner accent on this page.

....And this adorable lavender wreath!  You're going to have so much fun making this page accent!  As always, I created  a full video tutorial with the kit to which you have unlimited access to, to help you create your own special keepsake.  You can may your page exactly as shown or tweak the page to suite your own style.

You can order your kit today HERE at The Scrapbook Diaries!  As always it includes enough product to make extra bonus pages as well.  The kits are limited in number so be sure to get your's while they are still available.

I know you haven't seen a lot from me lately....but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!  I've got 8 new stencil's I've designed for The Crafter's Workshop that will be coming out in the winter shows....I'll have lots of tutorials for fun projects to make with them, so stay tuned! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I always appreciate all the lovely comments and feedback! xo

NEW Kit & Video, Time to Scrap Summer Photos! {The Scrapbook Diaries}

Hi my friends!  I know I've been pretty quiet around here the last little while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy being crafty! Shhhh! but I've been designing some more stencils for TCW (The Crafters Workshop)....I think you're going to love them! But for now you have to wait while they go into production.  In the meantime I have this lovely new Kit Page and Video tutorial to share with you that I designed for The Scrapbook Diaries (the video comes with the kit).  We had a super busy summer and took lots of pics, so now it's time to get scrapping them (I hate for them to just sit in a computer file right?)

This kit it packed with beautiful chipboard elements....and don't get me started on the papers!  They were some of my all time favorite papers to work with by Blue Fern!  (I loved them so much, when I finished my page, I contacted Janene and asked if she minded if I made an extra page for this kit because I'm on a roll!)

I did a little fussy cutting on this one, but not too much for those of you who are not into that....just enough to add a nice artistic touch.  I just used a little pair of nail clipper scissors to do this.

Now let's talk embellishments!  So many wonderful things to embellish with in this kit!  Some gorgeous Prima metal accents and beautiful blooms from 49 & Market!  I also used a very cool stencil by Andy Skinner that ended up looking like mermaid scales to me!

....And the paints!!  I'm soooo in love with the paints I used in this kit!  Luminarte H20's in Ancient Coin and Beachouse blue.  They give such a pretty aged patina to the page design. It's hard to see the shimmery effect they give on this flat page but you'll see in the video how beautifully they combine!

And of course I had to add some of my favorite new texture elements to this page....Prills!  I thought the colors I picked would add a nice sandy/beachy element to this page.

As I said earlier, I loved the kit elements so much that I just wanted to keep going so I made an extra page for this kit!  This one came together so quick and easy!  Don't you love it when that happens?

We went camping this summer (something I haven't done for many many years) and we went to a place called The Pinery near Grand Bend Ontario.  So beautiful! I enjoyed scrapping this pic of the beach, brought back so many happy memories as I was working on it! But then that's the point behind all this scrapping right?

Here's another close-up of the embellishments included in this kit....the metal accents make me so happy...

And aren't these wood chippies adorable? I thought they gave a nice 'sea grass' look to the page design (also included in kit)...the little shells, star fish and sea horses are from Dusty Attic (also included in kit).

You can see a bit of the shimmer the paints give on the corrugated cardboard area here.  Here I just randomly painted on the two colors in the kit, letting them overlap here and there....I thought this gave the embellishment a nice sort of aged/rusted look.

Seaside Memories Bonus Page MMK182

And usually I don't overload you guys with all the bonus options of the kits here on my blog but I just had to show you the BONUS pages that Janene Meyerowitz designed to be added to the kit! I absolutely love the two bonus pages she created for this one! (above)

Bonus Page MMK182

This is the second bonus page that Janene Meyerowitz designed for this kit!  I love that she adds bonus pages that allow for more photos as well!

So there you have it! One BIG beautiful kit to scrap those summer photos (or your vacay photos) which also includes unlimited access to a private video tutorial on how to make the top page.  Get yours while they are still available cuz when they run out, they are gone! You can order your's here at The Scrapbook Diaries.  As always, she offers it in Basic and Complete kits so that you all have options.

I hope your summer has been as beautiful as mine has been!  We went wedding dress shopping with my beautiful daughter on the weekend, I think she found the one she loves! So many exciting things happening around here :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I always appreciate the kind comments and lovely feedback I get from my sweet friends here!
