Sweet Life Cards {Bo Bunny Design Team}

I know, we are all in the mood for Spring! That's why this week I chose Bo Bunny's cheerful and beautiful 'Sweet Life' collection papers and embellishments to make a couple of cards.  Spring is synonymous with weddings, so I thought it would be fun to create a bridal shower invite using 2 sizes of the Bo Bunny paper doilies.

It's super easy to create this cute little invite card using the Bo Bunny Doilies, some Sweet Life paper and some double dot cardstock.  Here is a quick little step by step on how to fold the dress design....

The key to getting a nice frothy look to the skirt is folding slightly off center so that you can see the layers.  Here is a close-up pic of the finished dress....

I simply added a strip of the green (Clover) double dot paper and made a little 'ribbon' for the dress and added a tiny white rose to finish the look.

A dear family friend just passed away and I wanted to make a sympathy card that could bring a little cheer to the family. So I used one of the pretty floral papers from Sweet Life, fussy cut some of floral images from another of the papers and added another folded doily and some coordinating buttons from this collection to add a finishing touch.

I also added a pretty pink blossom from the Blush package of Bo Bunny Blossoms. I attached my fussy cut little flowers with some foam adhesive dots to help them stand out from the page a little.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I really appreciate all the kind comments and feedback :)

I Wish I Could Scrap Like Her.... {The Scrapbook Diaries Kits!}

I have some of the nicest people in the scrapbooking industry stopping by my blog and Youtube channel.  The comments and feedback is always so sweet and thoughtful!   One comment that I hear often though is, "I would love to do pages like your's but I can't get my hands on some of the products you use".  Well, now you can!  Janene at The Scrapbook Diaries makes it easy for you to create either the exact same page I created here (or you can tweak it to fit to your taste).  I provide a full step by step Video Tutorial on how this page was made (you get full unlimited access to this with the purchase of the kit).....and Janene puts together all the product used to create this page.....Yep, that's right, the specialty ink, the unique chipboard, the pretty blossoms and page accents, stamps and papers.....all of it! On top of it Janene creates a gorgeous bonus page that can also be made with the kit ingredients (and believe me, she created a beautiful bonus page for this one!).

 Smokey greys and buttery yellows have long been a color combination I love, so when I saw those beautiful Prima roses, I was inspired to create this page.  They have such subtle color variations and the gentle shimmer that just make them glow!

Also included in the kit is this unique and lovely Dusty Attic layered chipboard. I show you in my video tutorial how I prepped and finished these pieces.

This kit also includes my NEW Textures #2 Stamp Set!  This set has lot's of fun textures includeing the chicken wire design you see above, as well as the crackle finish I used on the chipboard (as well as three other unique textures and designs).  Janene offers the kit 2 ways, as a Basic or a Complete set.  This way if you've already got my stamp set you can go with the Basic set making it more economical for you :)

Isn't that butterfly cute!  It's such a lovely design printed on vellum, so the butterfly has a sheer airy look to it!

If you would like to try this kit for yourself, just hop on over to The Scrapbook Diaries and order yours now, the kits do go fast!  I had so much fun creating this page and I just know you are going to love this one as well!  You can order your kit HERE.

NOTE:  Many of you asked if my Mischief layout would ever be put out as a kit!  Well, Jennifer Hedger (Dusty Attic) and Janene (The Scrapbook Diaries) worked together to make up a kit for this one!  This kit is PACKED with gorgeous chipboard and even has the Dusty Attic Rusting Powder in  it!  Now, I gotta warn you, she only has this kit in a very limited small number so it's first come first serve, but I thought I'd let you all know about this one incase you want to save in shipping and add it to your package if you are ordering the kit above! :)  You can find the Mischief kit HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I so appreciate all the lovely comments and feedback I get from my dear blog readers, hope you all have a lovely weekend! xo xo

Got a Bo Bunny Layout Published in Somerset Magazine!!

Hi All, I just thought I'd post a little message about some exciting news for me!  I got a Bo Bunny layout I made using the gorgeous Madeleine Collection published in the newest issue (April 2015) of Somerset Memories Magazine!  I've always been a big fan of this magazine!  They are not afraid of artistic style in this magazine, lots of creative work to be seen in this publication, so I'm super thrilled that they asked to pub one of my pages! (I can see one of my dear friends, Heather, has been pubbed in this one as well! Congrats Heather!)

Everday Pages with Bo Bunny's Safari Collection

Hello my friends! I'm sharing with you today my latest layout using Bo Bunny's Safari collection and featuring their brilliant Aqua Jewels!  ...So, you bought the Safari collection to scrap all those photos you took with the kids at the Zoo or on a special vacation.  But now you've got some leftover paper. What I love about Bo Bunny's themed collections is that they can be used for everyday photos as well!  I was just crazy about these grungy wall papers, so I started with these as my base for this page of my dear husband and me.

Scrapbook page by Gabrielle Pollacco using Bo Bunny's Safari collection papers and embellishments

I took the grunge look a little further by tearing out sections of the turquoise wall paper and exposing the aged brick paper behind it. Before I glued it together I sandwiched some tattered cheesecloth between the layers.  I used the Chocolate to add 'rivets' to the edges of the paper.

I began creating a background for my photo area by first dry brushing some Gesso on the area, then I used the NEW Cascade stickable stencil with some texture paste on the same area.  Then I added some richness to the design by adding a bunch of the small gems from the Aqua Jewels pack at the cross sections of the Moroccan.design.

I tucked a wood piece from the Ironworks Wood designs package behind the photo, removing the center disc (to be used in my floral cluster - below), and then filled the cavity with a variety of gems from the Aqua Jewels packet.

Finally, I wanted some rustic looking blooms for this page so I used a daisy floral punch on some neutral color papers from a 6x6 paper pad from the Heritage collection.  I layered a few of the punched blooms and added a circle of burlap to the center.

Bo Bunny products used in this project:
Patterned Paper: Safari/Corrugated, Jungle, Outback
6x6 Paper Pad: Heritage
Combo Stickers:  Safari, Star-Crossed (title alphas)
Stickable Stencils: Butterflies, Cascade
Wood Accents: Ironworks, Kraft wood Keys & Butterflies
Jewels: Aqua
Stamps: Floral Stamps

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, hope you enjoyed this project and feel inspired to give these yummy product a try! I appreciate all your kind comments and feedback! xo

Garden Journal Cards {Bo Bunny & Tresors de Luxe}

I'm just crazy in love with this beautiful new collection by Bo Bunny called Garden Journal!  It's so easy to create pretty cards using the patterned papers like 'Notebook', "Journal' and 'Postcard' to create whimsical cards.  I purposely left the type of card as blank so that I can use them for whatever purpose arises.

For this card I used some leftover 'Wonder' paper as my card background, then I layered a couple of the postcard designs from the 'Journal' paper.  I then added a bloom cluster from Tresors de Luxe, really sweet handmade blooms from my friend Lucy's etsy shop! (thanks Lucy!!).  And I finished with some natural hemp twine and some coordinating buttons from the Garden Journal collection.

For my second card I used some paper from the Garden Journal 6x6 paper pad (green) as my background.  I had some leftover paper from a project I recently did using the weathered wood design from Bo Bunny's Heritage Collection called 'Register', I cut out a few of the wood planks and put them on the card with foam adhesive dots, laying them on in an uneven pattern.  I then layered on some images from the 'Notebook' paper from Garden Journal.  Again I used a little natural floral cluster from Tresors de Luxe, some natural twine and another coordinating button from the Garden Journal collection.

Products used in these 2 Cards:
Patterned Paper:  Garden Journal/Wonder, Notebook, Journal, Pastel, Heritage/Register (Bo Bunny)
6x6 Paper Pad: Garden Journal (Bo Bunny)
Garden Journal Buttons (Bo Bunny)
Blooms: Tresors de Luxe
Other: cheesecloth, hemp twine

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! These gorgeous Bo Bunny collections are in stores now!  And if you are looking for beautiful lace, trims and blooms, have a peek at the lovely offerings at the Tresors de Luxe Etsy Shop HERE.   We have the Maple Syrup Festival this weekend, hope the weather won't be too cold to have some fun!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Tattered Frame {Maja Design}

Hi there! I thought it would be fun to share with you today a frame I made using the Maja Design Walking in the Forest collection papers.  I have to say this collections is an old favorite of mine, I love the tattered, worn look of the papers.

  Walking-in-the-forest-P

I began by picking up an inexpensive unfinished wood frame at a local craft shop (Michaels).  It cost me only $1.50 (I love me a good bargain!)  I then had the daunting task of choosing which papers I wanted to use to create my frame.  I say daunting because there are so many gorgeous papers in this collection that I had a hard time choosing which I wanted to put together.

Tattered_Frame_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_Closeup2While I was shopping for my frame I came across these pretty tattered looking blooms (Recollections brand). When I saw the colors I immediately thought of the papers and colors in the Walking in the Forest collection.  I just love those faded denim colors and the worn craft colors.  I added a little hemp twine and some bits of burlap to finish the rustic look.  While I was digging around in my papers I came across this bit of brick mortar chipboard (left over from a brick design I had done a little while back)....well, you know me, I try to use everything...so I thought it would be nice to add a little texture to the frame by gluing on this bit of leftover chipboard.

  Tattered_Frame_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_Closeup1

Included in the floral package was this cute triple layer butterfly!  I also did a patchwork design on this frame so that I could use a variety of the patterned papers in this lovely collection.   I used some Bronze metalic dimensional paint to add 'rivets' to the cut edges. I also used a little water on the edge of the paper so that I could gently pull back the edge to reveal the Flannel Shirt paper.

I hope you enjoyed my project today.  I'm often asked where do I get my inspiration.  I often pull my inspiration from the products I work with. In this case I saw the blooms and my mind begins thinking about what papers would look nice with these, and what design  or project could be made with this.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, and thanks so much for all the lovely feedback....I say it a lot but I mean it, you all make my day! xo xo

NEW Kit Page! Masculine/Romantic {The Scrapbook Diaries} PLUS a NEW Stamp!!!

Spring is on it's way (hard to tell here today, the temperatures are still below zero), but I know that lots of people have wedding anniversaries coming up.  So I thought it would be nice to scrap a Kit Page for The Scrapbook Diaries that would work nicely as a romantic page or can be adapted to use as a masculine page as well (lots of fun chains, clocks, cogs and gears in this one!  I also thought it would be fun to use a very cool mixed media background paper.  I've always wanted to try playing with Tim Holtz inks and embossed resist papers.  The background design was created using 2 Tim Holtz distress inks (included in the kit) and a KaiserCraft embossed resist paper.

There is loads of yummy chipboard in this kit, and in the video tutorial (which you get unlimited access to with the purchase of the kit), I show you how to get this verdigris/rust patina on the chipboard pieces.

I chose very rustic looking blooms for this page (burlap and metal) so that they would not look out of place even if you were to use an all masculine pic for this page.

There are some really awesome accent embellies in this kit as well, I just love those sugar dots, the splash of color they add to the layout is even more shimmery in real life!

As always the kit comes with a full VIDEO TUTORIAL to which you will have unlimited access to (with the purchase of the kit).  Just follow along and recreate this page or tweak it to suit your own tastes.  You can find this kit today at The Scrapbook Diaries HERE.  (It's available as a Basic or Complete kit, depending on whether you need the inks etc....Janene likes to help you save where you can :)   Be sure to check out the Scrapbook Diaries Blog as well to see the gorgeous bonus page that Janene Meyerowitz created for the kit as well, this is a Stunner! (love the way she incorporated the butterflies and the way she used the Tim Holtz inks!)

Before I close off today I wanted to share another bit of exciting news with you all!  I have come out with another stamp set!  This is another texture style stamp set!  Being a scrapbooker myself I know the type of stamps I would like to play with, so I got to work sketching out some texture designs....I did a peeled paint finish, a crackle design and a chicken wire design, as well as a barb wire strip!

Have you ever been in a hurry when making up a project but didn't want to scrimp on design?  I thought the crackle and peeled paint designs would work beautifully to add a nice textural element to your chipboard pieces!  And chicken wire, who doesn't love a bit of that on their pages, right?  And I thought it would be nice to add a barbed wire border design to the stamp set to round it out, so I hand drew out a barbed wire design to be used on masculine style pages (not that you can use it on a feminine page as well, lol).

You can find my stamp set at The Scrapbook Diaries HERE!  And and update on my first texture stamp set (the water droplet/brick set), Janene completely sold out of this set and ordered a new run of them, so they are now again available in her store as well! NOTE:  There has been some confusion in the past as far as shipping rates on my stamp sets.  Here is a quote from Janene on how to go about ordering stamps for International customers.....

International Customers…

Combining Collections {NEW Bo Bunny}

Scrapbook page by Gabrielle Pollacco using Bo Bunny's Garden Journal collection mixed with Heritage, Star-crossed and Sweet Life

Sometimes I like to just stick to one collection and use all the embellishments made to coordinate with the collection. It makes a page design come together easily.  But other times I like to play around and pick a bit of this collection and a little of that!  That's what I did with this page.  I used a wood panel paper from the Bo Bunny Heritage collection for my background paper.  Then layered a paper called 'Gratitude' from the Garden Journal collection. I then used other papers from the Garden Journal collecton for my matting and coordinated with embellishments from the same collection. Then I wandered over to the Sweet Life collection by Bo Bunny and picked out a butterfly from the Noteworthy die cut pack to add as an extra embellishment to this page.

I used film strip sticker from the 12x12 sticker page from Garden Journal to create a horizontal page design.  This shot shows products from 4 collections (Butterfly from Sweet Life, woodgrain paper from Heritage, Stickers, chipboard stickers and papers from Garden Journal and alphabet stickers from Star-crossed (LOVE those alpha stickers!).

I went with the greens and neutrals from the Bo Bunny Blossom collections to embellish around my photo.  I also added a hemp twine bow and some bits of cheesecloth to add to the tattered look.

Bo Bunny Products used on this Project:
Patterned Paper: Heritage/Register, Garden Journal/Wonder, Gratitude,Pastel
6x6 paper pad: Garden Journal
12x12 Sticker Sheet: Garden Journal
Combo Sticker: Star-Crossed (alphabet Stickers)
Layer Chipboard: Garden Journal
Noteworthey: Sweet Life, Garden Journal
Jewels: Double Dot Emerald Jewels, Primrose
Blossoms: Clover Bouquet, Clover Dahlia, Natural Earth Zinnia
Stamps: Distressed Textures, It is Written

Other products:
Wyncinanka Wood embellishments
Tim Holtz Distress Paint: Victorian Velvet, Bundled Sage
Hemp Twine
Cheesecloth

Hope you enjoyed my project today! And hope you all have a lovely scrappy weekend!  Thanks so much for all the sweet comments and feedback! xo
